They are trying to provoke a response that they can use to crack down even harder. It's important not to give them an excuse, while also using every non-violent means at our disposal to fight back.

This is something the left in general needs to do. Part of the reason we keep losing is that we are not offering an inspiring vision of the future, just a defense of the status quo.

Lately, I have noticed an increasing tendency to portray the 1960s as so violent that it could have become a second civil war. Which is weird because 1) It’s just not true, and 2) It was a watershed decade for nonviolent revolution.

A few of them, like Hegseth and Bondi, are true believers in the man himself. More of them (like Vaught, Miller, and the ones who don’t make headlines that often) are ideologues with agendas and Trump offered them a chance to do the things they wanted but know are deeply unpopular.

I haven’t read anyone making this argument forcefully and explicitly, but the Republican Party is now, effectively MAGA. They might lose some support and enthusiasm when Trump keels over, but that’s why they are taking steps now to ensure they won’t lose power.

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

Keep taking videos of what ICE is doing. @govpritzker.illinois.gov is right, document what’s happening. This is why they hate journalists so much.

All I will say about the plot is that pigs are extremely intelligent animals and much more dangerous than people think. You have to wonder how aware they are of their circumstances and what revenge might look like from their POV.

Horror Recommendations: *Pearl* by Josh Malerman. For horror junkies, imagine a Stephen King premise and small town complex character development blended with Lovecraftian cosmic(ish) horror and steadily ratcheting up one dreadful revelation after another.

Noting a trend of eloquent Black progressives going on leftist-normie politi-bro podcasts to patiently, compassionately, and sternly explain why they need to stop helping white wash Charlie Kirk’s message and life’s work.

Sensing a growing rupture on the left over Charlie Kirk.

New colleagues glancing at each other nervously. Someone eventually works up the courage to ask, “Who’s the guy in the corner shouting expletives about reporting requirements?”
Veteran colleague, “That’s just Sam. You’ll get used to him. Eventually it just fades into the ambience.”

Any other CenturyLink customers in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro without internet service for multiple days? They say they have an area wide outage, so I can’t request a service ticket. They also wont say how many people are affected, so I’m curious.

This has been on my mind a lot lately. Both his followers and his ideological opponents had strong opinions about Charlie Kirk because he really was a unique figure. There is no equivalent on the left, but he also had no peer on the right either.
Why Charlie Kirk Had No Counterpart on the Left
Over the past decade, Kirk built an entirely new infrastructure for the GOP.
