The Trump administration has been spreading anti-vaccine propaganda for months. Tonight, Trump's physician announced he just received a flu shot and a COVID booster.

DHS default is to lie about every encounter. Which is why they’re trying to criminalize recording them.
CHICAGO (WGN) - A WGN creative services department employee was detained by two
Border Patrol officers and later released after federal agents swarmed a busy intersection on Chicago's North Side Friday morning, at the height of rush hour.
WGN is not naming the employee, as station policy requires blurring faces and not identifying those who have not been charged with a crime.
Witnesses on site who captured the incident on video spoke to WGN about the moments leading up to the staffer's detainment. Thomas added that when he made his way down to the scene, around 8:30 Friday morning, he realized there was another person already detained inside the minivan being used by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
"I didn't get his name, although I asked for his name," Thomas said. "He didn't speak very good English. They claimed that the WGN employee was obstructing justice, even though she was, like all of us, just standing there, taking video.'

This arrest appears to be in direct violation of a temporary restraining order prohibiting DHS officers from arresting journalists. The officers here may well be subject to contempt of court. protectdemocracy.org/wp-content/u...

OK. It's going to be coming out soon because of the relentless investigations of Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, so I might as well admit it before the news breaks:

I also don’t understand how, if you’re willing to start drawing timelines, you would stop at Reagan as the origin. Go back another 10 years. The direct ties to Nixon (Roger Stone) and echoes of his presidency (lying, war on media, democrats) are undeniable.

Unacceptable to put the costs of the AI boom on the backs of families struggling to pay their bills. It’s a crisis.

“By 2028, an average family in the region will be paying around $70 a month extra on their electricity bills because of forecasted data center growth”

I'm once again asking why ratepayers are subsidizing AI titans?

Electricity prices are up 38% over the last five years, and are re-accelerating this year

A trade regime that tariffs the wires, transformers, batteries, & other capital goods necessary to meet growing electricity demand is just going to exacerbate our power cost problem

Abbott egged on the Jade Helm conspiracists, who claimed that a military training operation was actually Obama invading the state of Texas.

Now a U.S. president is deploying Texas troops to other states to dominate and intimidate those states, and Abbott is complicit.
govpritzker.illinois.gov
I call on Governor Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.

That the @washingtonpost.com can’t keep @crampell.bsky.social around is damning. Anyone familiar with Rampell’s work would know that it would be compatible with WaPo’s intended editorial direction. But she didn’t want to be compromised. Good for her. www.semafor.com/article/10/0...

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

I have been thinking this too, but ditching the filibuster is a big step. Implications could cut in several directions.

All it takes is one guy having a bad day with poor training and bad judgement. The way some of these agents speak to the public, you get a distinct sense of baseline aggression toward their fellow citizens.

eventually ICE is going to kill a protester on camera and the federal government simply does not have enough thugs for what could happen after that

Trump considering sending the 82nd Airborne to Portland. Not to defend our country against enemies abroad, but to intimidate protestors and dissuade opposition. The escalation of authoritarian rule continues.

this is wild: while Stephen Miller's guy was in Minnesota for his uncle's funeral, somebody was able to see his entire phone and take pictures of his Signal group chats talking about military deployments to Portland, and brought them to the Strib (gift link: www.startribune.com/trump-offici...)

If you think the Trump administration is very online, you're wrong. They're one hundred times more online than that. They only exist for online. It is their beginning and end, it is absolutely everything for them, they care about nothing else but retweets.

They are not, you know, actually sincerely against showing contempt for America or its values or its peoples. That’s the essence of their movement. What does MAGA mean other than America is no longer great? No, the demand for obeisance is only directed at certain people.

Weaponized gratitude is a key tool in the abuser's toolkit. The goal is to convince the victim that they owe the abuser so much, they should feel guilty for wanting to complain.

Joy Reid has had such a good life in this country. It's been
overwhelmingly kind and gracious to her. She is far wealthier than most.
Yet she oozes with contempt.
My honest, non-trolling advice to Joy Reid is that you'd be a much
happier person if you showed a little gratitude

The numbers say H-1Bs raise wages, boost patents, and drive productivity.

The story is that H-1Bs aren’t just “workers”—they’re engines of innovation. They're the strivers who crossed the ocean, and brought their fresh new ideas with them.

Note the implication that Joy Reid is some kind of other, and that Vance is some kind of native who represents and speaks on behalf of “this country,” deserving of the other’s gratitude.

Joy Reid was born in New York. So I wonder what he means by that.
