Labyrinth Of The Demon King, capitalization and all: EXCELLENT!

Aesthetically concise; early PS2 horror and Teruo Ishii films, Noroi, etc. Great sound design all around, down to character mumbles.

Really perfect pacing. No area overstays, the enemy variety is ample, systems as deep as needed.

Started somewhat consistently diddling a little comic… Fearful of having to ink this because I know anything I remotely like will be ~destroyed~…

And now, the Konbini Wagon.

A beautiful bowl of udon if I do say so myself.

Mushishi reprinting is a real treat.

Urushibara’s art is one thing, loose yet dense with all the foliage, but her balance between horror and objectivity in the stories is fascinating.

It’s partly why Hellboy is my favorite; it’s all just the job to HB, much like the mushi are to Ginko here.

Had a roll of weird "Edo 35mm film" for like a year that I only just shot recently. A little more desaturated than I was expecting (and not a ton of great shots out of it) but a few I don't hate..!

Not quite balancing things flavor-wise yet but the curry udon challenge is one I accept.

Honestly thinking back on it more the カリーすけめん I had was one of the better meals in Osaka, might try to make a really decadent, rich “broth” to dip noodles (or naan..?) into…

Testing a print of The New World and it’s honestly one of the best looking 35mm prints I’ve run.

Maybe the last Malick I like..?

That rapscalliony Colin Farrell.

I made a joke mostly to myself about Nintendo relocating their Japanese headquarters to Paterson, New Jersey but honestly I think that would be a hysterical film.

Started to develop some of the 35 shot this past trip.

Black and white is tricky but also forgiving enough that a goof can shoot things that look half-decent…

Television and streaming is such a black hole void of trash and sifting Content because the new show by Vince Breaking Bad Gilli-G (more deservedly known as Better Call Vince Saul Gilligan) is out (?) and like who’s watching? Where?

It’s probably good! But a lot of things probably are!

Whether or not Noah Baumbach sees the Light of Heaven is not my decision, but his film worth sitting through to discover this absolute gem. youtu.be/5Puo_9AeYTY?...

Being back in Japan means the Curry Train steams ahead.

THE funniest thing so far this visit to Japan has been riding an elevator down next to a smiling old man サラリーマン Old St Nick-chortling to himself at a gaggle of very loud (by Japanese standards) teenage girls descending on adjacent stairs in Kichijoji.

He was so pleasantly amused by their loudness.

Pretty sure today I unironically and unintentionally said

Feels like a new chapter has begun in my life.
