Politisch/menschlich ist Tenure dennoch das Richtige, selbst wenn danach die Produktivität sinken/nicht ansteigen würde. Es sei denn, man stellt Produktivität über körperl. u geistiges Wohl. Wobei ich nicht davon ausgehe, dass Sie das tun. Sonst müsste man auch die MPI-Direktorenstellen abschaffen 😀

Ja, in den USA (Ggstand der Studie) mag das so sein. Aber das ist gar nicht auf D übertragbar (was auch teilweise aber doch auch anders Ihr Punkt ist), weil in D bis vor kurzem kaum jemand vor der Professur eine TT-Stelle hatte, es ergo auch nicht den TT-Peak und post-TT-Decline geben kann/muss.

Also, selbst wenn die Produktivität fallen würde, ist das nicht unbedingt schlimm und schon gar kein Argument gegen Tenure, weil Uni mehr ist als Forschung (so gerne ich auch selber forsche...).

2. Dass die Produktivität von tenured Faculty in den nicht-Laborfächern fällt, hat mit anderen Forschungsstrukturen zu tun, und damit dass ProfessorInnen in diesen Fächern ihre Zeit in Lehre, Verwaltung und nicht zuletzt PhD-Betreuung stecken, die zur eigenen Forschung selten beiträgt.

Ja, da haben Sie recht. Nur 1. Es geht in dem Aufsatz um das US-amerikanische TT-System. Das hat wenig mit dem deutschen System zu tun, wo die wenigsten auf einer TT-Stelle, also mit klarer Perspektive, forschen. 2...
