I was listening too! Cleaning up my transcript tomorrow!

@andrew-wiebe.bsky.social I’d love to hear about the “back pass” no-call in the ~62nd minute of SKC / VAN match tonight. Feels like the right no-call, but what do the rules say?

@questauthority.bsky.social Thank you for the kind words about delta.blog on your stream last night! Let me know if you spot anything wrong or weird.

This is scary but I'm taking The Film Maven off Substack and have transferred to Ghost. Not only does this give me complete ownership of my work, but also means I won't continue to lose money to Substack and Apple. I lay everything out for Subscribers here.

I installed the Fair Package Manager (@fairpm) on my personal site last night. I'm excited to say it worked flawlessly. A couple of plugins were updated from Fastly's servers, & a paid plugin updated from its servers as normal. I'm excited to see what else comes from this interesting development.
FAIR Package Manager Project
FAIR Package Manager Project has 8 repositories available. Follow their code on GitHub.

Only a matter of time before macOS looks more like iPadOS.

@gruber.foo I suspect the CIRP survey is looking only at the US market (not even or Americas), which has a higher concentration of iPads than global markets. 78% of the US iPhone users having iPads makes more sense. Globally iPads are less popular, meaning lower overall revenue.

Fwiw, audio messages already disappear by default—the receiver can choose to "keep" them. I think it's a misnomer to say iMessage doesn't support disappearing messages—it doesn't support disappearing text messages, but does support disappearing audio messages.

I’d be happy to help you move somewhere else (and where the platform takes less of a cut).

As an aside, I’m a more-recent follower/listener and I’ve been curious: why Substack in particular? They’ve always been a bit fraught, from what I’ve read (e.g. www.anildash.com//2024/11/19/...).

But really, practically a given Sounders will make it to the playoffs. Their defence should hold up during the playoffs too. A combo of Morris+Ferreira+de la Vega feels like it can breakthrough, on paper… we’ll have to see what that’s like in practice though.
samuelsidler.com
How much money did Miami cost you?
samuelsidler.com
Definitely. Feels like a big “if” though. De la Vega hasn’t broken through yet. If that happens in 2025, Sounders could be unstoppable. But it may be more like 2027…

Plus, it took the Sounders a couple of months to get going in 2024. With the LAFC+Galaxy, they can’t afford to wait that long.
samuelsidler.com
We’ll see. Ferreira has been spotty. And him alongside Morris and de la Vega is going to be interesting… I imagine it’ll take a couple of months to iron out the lineup.

Obviously, @aaron.jorb.in prefers a large slather of mayonnaise on his hot dog. Occasionally, a sprinkling of pineapple tidbits, as well.

I've seen people raise concerns about the WPE injunction similar to this in a few different places, including Hacker News and Twitter. (In other words, not trying to drag brinavan - this is a Bluesky example of a common, and not unreasonable, concern.)

Here's why I don't share that concern:

On what basis did the judge rule that Matt improperly triggered an interruption of voluntarily giving WPEngine a distro server? Did he rule that Matt surrendered rights of propriety by advertising it as public? Or did he inexplicably rule that Matt is entitled to support WPE's business indefinitely?

@questauthority.bsky.social Unless we get a last minute WPE PI... I'd love to hear more about the 9 new claims in the amended complaint today, if possible.

(And, perhaps some insight into why Automattic decided not to submit an actual draft PI, as the judge requested...)
