My story in COSTS OF LIVING is a rare venture into Chicago writing for me. It is about those grotesque Midwest millipedes that invade our homes every summer. I hope you will share this post and support this book!

If you have ever lived in Chicago, you know these 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔…

Here is the 1st page of my story, “Creepy Crawly” from the newly released, fantastic domestic horror anthology, COSTS OF LIVING. I was thrilled when KIRKUS REVIEWS singled my story out in its glowing review.

Happy October! 🎃

Washington Post dismantled the platform Jamal wrote on. Discarded the fellowship they created in his memory.

They fired me unjustly for speaking the truth.

But I’ll never stop talking about my friend, writer, and amazing human, Jamal Khashoggi.

RIP, Jamal.

We are living in a new Gilded Age: exorbitant wealth, staggering inequality, concentrated power, rampant corruption, and industrial capitalism taking precedence over working families. But the Progressive era was a response to the Gilded Age and history will repeat itself.

40 freaking 6 years ago tonight, I saw my first KISS concert at the International Amphitheater in Chicago. Judas Priest opened. Incredible memory. Thank you @KISS. Photos are from that night.
The platform of choice for Gen Z is now effectively state run media. #TikTok

They are definitely going to try to takedown Bluesky.
Two absolute masters of their craft.

Ray Bradbury once told me he went to dinner at Hitchcock’s Hollywood Hills home and all the food on the table was dyed purple. “Why did he do that?” I asked.
“He didn’t say,” Bradbury responded.

He put his name on it at the end of the process and didn’t write the thing. Bradbury protested, but the Writers Guild sided with Huston because of his considerable Hollywood clout.
Is Indiana Jones still available?
You’re the best. Always so supportive. I hope you are doing exceptionally well and your writing flows!
I worked hard to earn these. I never take these two gothic beauties for granted. #horror #horrorwriters @horrorwritersassoc.bsky.social
This is a good one.

It’s a malicious and very conscious move from the totalitarian playbook. Just look at how the least educated citizens vote in this country…

Doesn’t offend me at all. His best poetry was threaded into his prose. His straight poetry was often overwrought, in my opinion.
