Any upsurge in measles is of real concern, but in settings aggravated by poor living conditions and malnutrition, it can be disastrous. It can affect adults, but young children are at particular risk.

@msf.ca data shows diseases directly linked to these poor living conditions-- these account for 70% of outpatient consultations in our clinics.
The only responsible course of action? It's not complicated.

Or if the entire pop of #Chicago were squeezed into 1/3rd the area of #Manhattan. Or if all ppl in #Brussels were jammed into a few neighborhoods, exposed to the elements.

⚠️The start of a #ceasefire (already violated) is not the end to accountability or outrage. Here's what I find absolutely abhorrent as I sift through our @msf.ca data: Over 2 million Palestinians being forced into 13% of #Gaza- a patch of land so small that the scale of suffering is catastrophic.
This is nowhere near enough, but it's a start. Reclaiming even fragments of humanity in a place where it’s been stripped away is what keeps us going.

➡️ Restarted water trucking, delivering safe drinking water daily.
➡️ Continuing remote support for local hospitals, through incentives, supplies, + fuel.

#Gaza: Doctors without Borders is deeply disappointed that Dr Mohammed Obeid, a respected orthopaedic surgeon, and long-time MSF colleague, remains detained and was not released as part of the recent #ceasefire agreement. We call for his immediate and unconditional release.

📣 Humanitarian aid is a moral duty, not a political weapon. Although some aid has entered #Gaza, #Israel still restricts access, delays shipments +bans critical items. This blocks @msf.ca from operating with the urgency needed. Aid needs to flow freely, safely, at scale, NOW across #Gaza.

Clearly identifiable aid workers are being killed. Clearly identifiable red lines are being crossed. An entire population is clearly, systematically being dehumanized, erased, starved & besieged.

He was at a bus stop, in an MSF vest, waiting to head to our field hospital in #Gaza. 4 MSF colleagues were injured in the attack, all clearly identifiable as medical humanitarian workers. One of our staff is in critical condition with shrapnel wounds.
