UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio

There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.

Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

Great story here— about the “Godfather” of the Brooklyn Democrat Machine…..
Blockbuster story in the @nydailynews.com this weekend. It illustrates many of the reasons we at New Kings Democrats have been fighting for a better Brooklyn Democratic Party and why that fight matters.

It’s about Frank Seddio. But it’s about a lot more than him too.

some $175,000 in expenditures by Friends of Frank Seddio and the Kings County Democratic County Committee when Seddio was leading it that raise questions, either because they could be seen as benef…

On June 24, New Yorkers will decide primary races for mayor, comptroller, public advocate, and city council.

If you are registered as an independent or with a third party, you are effectively disenfranchised from this part of the democratic process.

But there’s a catch…

New York has “closed” primaries, meaning only registered Dems can vote in the Dem primary.

And the deadline to change your party affiliation is Feb. 13 online, or Feb. 14 in-person.

The secret Zen of Jesus is — was Jesus influenced by the Dharma missionaries we know had set up temples in Alexandria nearby, during his lifetime. And why do parts of the Dhamapada sound just like the New Testament? It’s a real koan.

Awesome. Yes Jesus in the temple driving out the money changers is Jesus at his most anti-capitalist! And yet he had compassion even for the little doves, the pidgins, they were the sacrificial animals for poor people who couldn’t afford a lamb or goat.

Someone posted it’s time to “punch every Nazi.” But real anti-fascism uses the heart and brain- to resist Trump, and Christian-Nationalists. Jesus is on our side with love, compassion, and nonviolence. Check out this post I did, with a sexy bibliography! open.substack.com/pub/sanderhi...

Ha ha. He hit ‘em right in the heart with a healing touch and wasn’t afraid to use his own spit to heal the blind with mud. He taught non-resistance to evil and not hitting back when hit. Check my substack on historical Jesus, a compendium of little known secrets. His violence is not among them.

I’ve actually punched Nazis on Capitol Hill in a people’s struggle against the National Alliance back in the mid-2000s. The results of this action actually caused me to turn towards radical non-violence as a more potent form of resistance. Go deeper. Go big! Gandhi Buddha Jesus that’s how we win.

Oh, I remember this book quite well. I loved this book. I think I was an early teenager and this book is about who I was at the time. And it took me a while to figure out how to pronounce the title. And that it wasn’t the “challenging.”
