My 8yo niece: “I don’t remember whether I did my homework or not; but let’s stay positive about that”

Go girl, YOLO!! 😂💀

Who remembers Narcotic, by German band Liquido? What an absolute banger.
Had a blast rediscovering 90s hits today. And danced to the tunes doing chores around the house, too. Bliss.

Pet peeve of the day: people on social media referring to the return to mp3 players, CDs and DVDs as "going back to analog".
Me, as a software person: 💀
So funny tho, I'm having the best time reading those comments. I WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED, PEOPLE!! 🤣
Also, I'm old.

Got recently nerd sniped by the new no-more-streaming trend and related retro nostalgia vibes. So I ordered an Innioasis Y1 this morning, to see what all the fuss is about. Black, 128 GB. Took me some days since this color/storage combo goes out of stock instantly! Would love an iPod comeback tho 🥲

New tools consistently increase leverage and productivity, but software development remains fundamentally an intellectual problem, not a mechanical one, so developers are augmented rather than replaced. www.caimito.net/en/blog/2025...
Why We've Tried to Replace Developers Every Decade Since 1969
Every decade brings new promises: this time, we'll finally make software development simple enough that we won't need so many developers. From COBOL to AI, the pattern repeats. Business leaders gro...

Obsession of the day: get rid of a bunch of electron apps in favor of Safari’s Add to Dock. Sandboxing is nice.

our household has converted to the kagi search engine & i'm impressed by its FEATURES (did you know that your search engine could do what YOU want it to do??) for instance: the community-driven "stopslop" where people downrank results that are full of AI slop.

Stranger Things is just so unwatchable. All these grown ass men and women playing the role of young kids is the cringiest clown show. It makes my eyes bleed. Full “Steve Buscemi hello fellow kids” meme vibes. -1/10

I’m not a native English speaker, so I often try to think of sentences in English hoping to somehow improve fluency. But then I realize the whole process happens in my head, with all its implications, and I soon feel like an AI training on its own output.

It would be nice for Rails to allow on-demand swapping of the cache backend in tests. I've come up with my own solution, in the shape of a custom cache store: lovli.fyi/KTzd
store_proxy.rb
store_proxy.rb. GitHub Gist: instantly share code, notes, and snippets.
