What I love the most about FLOWERS finale is that it refuses to flatten reality. Neither its fictional world nor ours. It leaves certain loose threads hanging. It gives closure in some cases and doesn't do things cleanly in other. It's hopeful without giving false promises and blinding with light.

i adore this album. now more than ever, bcs my mind links it to Automne and Hiver. it's otherworldly, nocturnal, oneiric, feminine, autumnal and wintry. sometimes it gives deep lesbian longing, and idc that it was probably never ever intended that way.

hate it when ppl try to invalidate someone's love for something by saying "even the author themselves knows it sucks"
yes, an author AUTHORS a piece, but when their work is done, it becomes part of the shared cultural fabric, and their viewpoint isn't automatically more valid purely bcs of that

so far, books that provided me with some kind of helpful insight on writing were all books on READING, on how to analyse lit through different lenses and perspectives, to interpret texts meaningfully, and find rewarding ways to talk about literature with other human beings

I had one of the more harrowing interactions with another "Flowers fan" a few years ago. We talked about our love for yuri and other passions and hobbies for a week. Eventually, I brought up Flowers. She replied with "I've read it Japanese, it's a masterpiece and one the best yuri works".
