👏 Huge well done to Southfield Primary Academy in Luton North for doing such amazing work in making sure every child gets the best education, regardless of background.

I know how hard teachers & staff work to make this happen, and everyone should be really proud of their achievement.

We promised in our manifesto to “tackle unregulated and unaffordable ground rent charges”.

We’re honouring that commitment today by legislating to cap ground rents at £250 per year, changing to peppercorn after 40 years.

Today, on Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember the six million Jewish people murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators.

This year's theme, "Bridging Generations", is a call to everyone to carry responsibility for remembrance.

Arguably more significant than defections, internal party politics and the Beckhams…

In 2024 there were around 3,600 suspected cases of measles.

We need to challenge the nonsense spread by anti vaxxers and ensure children are protected.

Teams were out across Luton this weekend listening to residents.

They fed back their ideas for Pride in Place funding as well as raising issues which will be taken up on their behalf.

This is why we knock on doors all year round in Luton - we want to hear from you. #Luton

The reports coming out of Minnesota are awful.

Another civilian has been shot dead.

This time an ICU nurse who worked with veterans.

Trump should look after his own instead of eyeing up other countries or insulting the men & women who serve in our armed forces.

I rarely say anything about the internal workings of the Party, because it’s usually not what matters.

But it’s important that the next candidate for Gorton and Denton is decided by members in the North, not officials in London. Especially when trust in politics is so low.

Important work from @davidbsampson.bsky.social and everyone else taking part.

So courageous of him to open up about the impact of his friend’s death by suicide. 🫶
This Sunday, whatever the January weather, David Burton-Sampson will walk 4.5km in Belfairs Woods in his Essex constituency.

a lot else going on tonight so just worth noting: standing up to Musk was a genuine risk for this govt that took some nerve (US has sanctioned govts in past for blocking twitter/X, a lot else is at stake in relations with US) but looks like it's working and he is backing down.
X Safety have posted that they have now made some changes to operate within the law.

This includes "geoblocking the ability of all users to generate images of real people in bikinis, underwear, and similar attire via the Grok account and in Grok in X in those jurisdictions where it’s illegal".

Liz Kendall speaking in the House of Commons now: "it is not just an affront to decent society; it is illegal ... this is child sexual abuse"

"It is insulting to victims to say: you can still have this service if you are willing to pay. It is monetising abuse"

It’s one thing to argue that it’s a necessary evil (wrongly IMO) but it’s quite another for Tories like Susan to profess their love for the child sexual abuse material and NCII hosting platform X.

And to also tag the ego maniac billionaire enabling it, reeks of desperation.
