We are stronger in our activism together. RK has faced racism in campaigning but has had opportunities to help reduce stigma eg speaking on Punjabi TV channels, talking at local schools about allyship. Everyone from marginalised communities should have opportunities to live the best lives possible.

Fab thread from the seminar which was brilliant. In awe of @georgejulian.bsky.social. ♥️

Good for them. Look forward to hearing more.

Agree.

Meticulously argued, sadly the evidence is all there.

So, so excited my new book is pretty much in publication. ‘Critical Health and Learning Disabilities; an Exploration of Erasure and Social Murder’ is out in the summer (Routledge).

Do you know that each local authority in England should have an up to date autism strategy? Well it turns out many don't. Find out about our study and database here youtu.be/6Xv-N4K4gWc?...

It's important everyone over 14 on their doctor's learning disability register has an annual health check.

They can help you stay well and find any problems early.

If you haven't been offered one you can ask your doctors practice if you can have one.

Gloom and despair over Streeting’s ‘deeply disappointing’ decision to delay social care reform
Disabled campaigners have reacted with despair and exasperation to the government’s “deeply disappointing” announcement that it is delaying long-term reform of the adult social care system in Engla…

It’s been a stunner so far given we’re warm and can walk to town. 🤞

Not saying it’s still cold in Buxton but this was the view from our bathroom window earlier.

There was a notion, at the time, that the pandemic would be a great 'leveller'. Now, as LA burns, we see that wealth and privilege is no protector. But 'business as normal' resumes quickly. I'm always wondering what can make us step into another's shoes and truly walk around in them... changing us.

And now weirdly pink…
