also also , its was a big silver age difference between DC and marvel xD bc marvel had a shoot from the hip policy with typ, that a lot of comics didnt have it and or just wasn't dont thew typ writers.

ok i had a history of comics class in college and -- vs - and ... were the polarizing topics

Also, it started in the 30's and was because comics were typed via typewriter. And the fact it is still around is because purely tradition... but also uesto do that in news papers too and its because - via typ writer can be a printing smudge typing too fast. So like it's really not needed
