Carter Hart giving evidence now (according to CBC), testifying that the sexual contact he had with EM was consensual. That means the defence is either 'there was actual communicated consent to the specific touching freely given at the time' OR he had an honest but mistaken belief it was consensual

A few additional thoughts (ie legal info):
- the accused are not necessarily coordinating their defence
- the Crown has introduced some accuseds' statements to police which jury can consider whether or not they testify
- one accused can testify against another (called a "cut throat defence")
