Also want to acknowledge how things have steadily been getting bad for quiteeee some time in the USA as well as globally, especially for marginalized groups but I was speaking more to the boiling point of the past couple years or so

And there is absolutely a degree of selfishness that comes with making that choice given the power she holds, but to me that feels like the answer to a lot of the “why is she doing it this way” questions. She always was going to, it just feels worse in this climate.

I think ultimately the reason why TLOAS isn’t as overtly political of a character as people want is BECAUSE this was all planned so far in advance - things changed quickly here in the us. I think she made the decision to move forward with her art how she intended, now that she finally has the chance

Something I’ve learned through parts work as well is that each of the parts that are not the ‘self’ work almost with blinders on. The way they’ve been taught to protect or manage the system is all they know, so sometimes they act out without realizing it, and (cont.)
