The most underreported aspect of these pardon stories is the screw you it sends to law enforcement - cases like this take FOREVER to put together with FBI agents and AUSAs working long long hours to get a conviction only to see Trump erase all that with the stroke of a pen. Back the Blue my ass.

The real question for me is whether the news media writ large will pick up on this and continue covering it as they did their myopic obsession with Biden's age. My guess is they will not, instead pointing to this lone story as proof WE COVERED IT.

I don't think it's hyperbolic to say that if a Democratic President pardoned a guy his family did business with and that guy was then accused of facilitating payments to Hamas, there would be Congressional investigations and editorial demands for impeachment proceedings
