I think the outcome of the EU summit on 🇺🇦 is better than many may think at first glance. The only thing that disturbs me are the optics (early insistence on using RU assets now make it seem we bowed to Putin and Trump) 👇
I don’t (entirely) agree. The fixation early on to use Russian assets now without considering alternatives poisoned the discussion from the beginning. freezing the assets indeterminately and providing joint borrowing is a very good outcome - also an important precedent for future financing rounds.
