Total honesty: right at this moment, Voltron fan-fiction.

But I have a big action/mystery sci-fi novel WIP involving psychics, a ghost, and a space-warping starship prototype.
Yeah I hate going back to 4:30 pm (and earlier!) sunsets. (We get a double whammy because north and east!)
And now I am thinking of Fett’s Vette.
I also liked the Penny Dreadful version. (And the ending to Penny Dreadful was awful and made no sense in so many ways.)
Watching satellite data of Hurricane Melissa making landfall and that storm is a monster. Latest reports show max sustained winds of 185 mph/160 knots (for ref, that’s an EF-4 *tornado* winds), with gusts approaching 220 mph/190 knots (EF-4/5). My heart goes out to the people of Jamaica. #melissa
@kadoore.com - do you have this one for your lists yet?
Pssst, help me reach queer book clubs about Hearth Witch!
With me it’s the opposite. I don’t want the sun going down at 4:30 PM 😢
Awesome. When I was a kid my cousins and I had a set of headgear walkie talkies and two sets of laser-tag gear - one of which made constant pings, one did not. We would play team hide and seek or cops-and-robbers. The finders/cops got the comms and noisy laser gear and the hiders/robbers the silent
Wife, in response to screams outside: What.. are you guys doing?
9yo: We're playing creepy hide and seek!
Wife: And how is that played?
9yo: It's like normal hide and seek, except one of us has a KNIFE
I have officially passed the 1 year and 100k words marks on this Voltron fic project of mine! The end is in sight — gotta stick the landing and then : back to my big original fiction WIP (hopefully last pre-query revision) and new works sparked during this longer-than-intended hiatus. #amWriting

Rough math: 12.3% of Americans (41.7 mil) are about to lose SNAP. Many food banks produce 3 meals per $1, so a November worth of meals for one costs $30. Round it up to $35 for asst. costs & hygiene products. If 13% of us donate $35 each to food banks, we can get everyone through Nov! #EndHunger 🥙💪
Well, eff it. I think I need to go back and change a couple of things in previous chapters of this fic project to make it work better (also split a couple of long chapters in two for readability). I didn’t want to do these things but my brain is so much happier now that I have come to this decision.
Clearl not so spicy now!
Um, yes please! This is the murderbirds story right?
I taught one kitten we had that if it was bare skin, she had to be gentle - but if I had my (fluffy) bath robe over my hand she could grab and play as hard as she wanted. Got it so she would immediately go gentle the moment my hand emerged from the sleeve
Red eyes are the worst, unless you’ve been working 3rd shift for a while
Luckily, our back door faces a small wood, and I mostly hid behind the door. But somehow my husband missed the whole thing — he was in the other bathroom at the time.
Comedy: Getting into the shower this morning I notice a dark blob. Mostly blind, I grab a paper towel to clean it up. When touched, it turns into a big spider and grabs hold. Can’t let it go or it will escape. So I run for the back door (with the thing climbing) and toss it outside — stark naked.
How I wish that were me right now
Today at Halloween festival, where I am dressed as Adult Pidge (Voltron):
Little girl: Are you a doctor?
Me: yes, but an engineer
LG: [scrutinizes my ID badge] Cool.
Me: Are you an Eevee?
LG: I’m an evee in human form with a crossbow! (She was dressed *exactly* as this.)
Me: [nods appreciatively]
Adult Pidge costume for Ghostport (town Halloween festival). #voltron #pidge
I’m an ambivert and have more experience with science cons than sff, but I found that finding a quiet corner during break times (preferably outside if possible) helped to clear my head. That and skipping a few low-priority panels to do the same. And took a little time to explore the host city alone
If I am describing in general I would spell out doctor. If I am literally saying what is on the sign, I would use Dr because that’s what the sign would say. (Also italics/quotes are super useful for situations like this!)
