There a lady who walks up and down our street with her dog and her phone on speaker talking to her friend whose life is very dramatic. Having to time my letterbox trips for the next instalment. It’s like living in the 50s listening to a daily radio serial.

The scripts for Fawlty Towers were obviously brilliant, but the casting was sublime. Prunella Scales wrung every ounce of funny out of moments like calling Basil an ageing, brilliantined stick insect. One of the greats. #RIPPrunellaScales
