"He lamented for a moment that the realignment didn’t ease any of his pain as he slowly made his way to the mirror Jayce had insisted upon putting in the lab. He silently thanked his partner for his vanity before realizing he was looking at a cat. Is dying truly the abrupt, ruthless end for us all; or can life be found in places we’ve long left for dead? As a Spiritfarer, Viktor's duty is to ferry dying souls in the Spirit Realm through the Everdoor into the afterlife. While in search of passengers in a pandemic-ravaged Zaun, he stumbles upon an unconscious and injured stranger in a ravine. Juggling between taking care of his passengers and this stranger, Viktor’s efforts to help them kickstarts a series of events that unravels the truth of his own past, how he came to be a Spiritfarer, and uncovers painful memories that Viktor long buried deep. A Spiritfarer inspired AU.
