Thank you to Henrico Police Department and Chief English for all they do to keep our community safe!

These are great trend lines!
Henrico saw 13% decrease in crime in 2025, fewest homicides in 60 years
Henrico County witnessed only three homicides in 2025, a drop of about 86% from the 22 it recorded the previous year, according to Henrico Police Chief Eric English. That figure is the lowest number ...

I’m in today’s @richmond.com with @philforvirginia.bsky.social talking about one of two of our energy bills.

Our goals: 1. Keep energy bills as low as possible by building out our cheapest energy sources and 2. Maximizing the energy grid we already have.

That’s how we keep energy affordable!

This week, I was honored to receive the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Free Enterprise Award for 2025 for my work in housing!

If we want to be the #1 state for business and a place where families and young professionals thrive, we have to have housing that people can afford!

Big win for affordability. Big win for housing supply. Big win for working people.

@vademocrats.bsky.social ran on affordability and are backing it up with policies that will make a real difference.
Party-line vote in Senate on @scvanvalkenburg.bsky.social bill to encourage building housing where people work, requiring mixed-use zoning on 75% of commercial district land in a locality.

"I think you're going to see a set of tax policies and a budget that reflects our values of helping the working and middle class and making life more affordable for them," VanValkenburg said.
Democrats preach affordability, Republicans question new Virginia tax proposals
Virginia Democrats say they're delivering on promises to make life more affordable for residents, but Republicans argue the opposite is happening as they point to numerous new tax proposals.
