One last full-throated cry for pre-orders, as the window closes today. Books will be released on April 7th, 2026; I will be appearing at @crowsnest.quest, @illusivecomics.com, and Zulu's Board Game Cafe Bothell to sign and personalize copies.

All first edition printings will include a special card.
So why do I keep going on and on about OMENS OF CHAOS? A couple of reasons.

I hope by the end of this year all the in universe stuff is so beloved and highly attended and outsold the other stuff so much that universes beyond goes back to being supplementary products like commander decks or secret lairs

wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

I am deeply thankful for my friends in the Magic creator world stepping up to say "ya state sponsored murder is fucking wrong." It's great to just yap about cards all day, but we all have reach and audiences that break past the silos of mass media. It's imperative to use that reach for good. 1/4

Celestial Reunion - watercolour and acryla gouache on paper
for Magic: The Gathering's "Lorwyn Eclipsed". AD: Jameela Wahlgren

An emotional reunion between two elemental gods. I was asked to lean into a stylized representation of them, and I had a lot of fun playing with the intertwining shapes.

I need to get back to Photoshopping Magic cards to give people a laugh. Things have been really awful lately. This is my way of coping. I'm not going to announce a new series or anything, but let's just have some fun.

So here we go!

My first oil painting made for magic the gathering ! The Ad asked for traditional looking illustrations for the set. At first I only wanted to start in oil and finish it digitally, but the paitning went well and I ended up painting everything in oil.

Kinda sucks how one day you’ll post stuff like “does the Grinch use the toilet?” and then the next it has to be “I reject those who worship death”

No, it was a successful coup. None of the people who led it were punished, and are in fact back in power, rewarded for their efforts to break the system by running it. Donald Trump is currently the dictator he attempted to become 5 years ago, and it’s because nobody treated trying as a crime.
We must speak plainly: January 6th was an attempted coup. It was an effort to nullify millions of lawful votes and subvert the will of the American people.

Huge fan of using the Special Guest slot to contextually reprint cards that specifically meld with Lorwyn and to also reprint cards from the original block that have extremely spiked in price or format relevance

This one feels very tightly curated vs Lord Windgrace in Ixalan or the DFT set

Dedicated artistic promotional content for Magic the Gathering stuff feels so refreshing right now!

Cleansing my own timeline with the most excited I’ve been for Magic since Lost Caverns of Ixalan!!!!

even my favored structural reforms are just finding ways to brute force a less destructive republican party, whether that is ending as much as possible the electoral bonus for representing rural areas or making multi-partyism more viable.
