🚨 New preprint alert!

We benchmarked 792 denoising pipelines for #fUSI in awake mice 🐭🧠

Our results show how they reduce motion artifacts and impact seed-based connectivity analyses.

Thrilled to share that our work is now published in Science! ✨

We found a preference for visual objects in the mouse spatial navigation system where they dynamically refine head-direction coding. In short, objects boost our inner compass! 🧭

This looks pretty cool: ultrasound can now see through the skull! 🧠🔊

The skull has long been a barrier to ultrasound. This reprint shows how to make it quickly transparent → enabling full-depth, high-res fUSI in mice (& humans! 🤯🤯)
Huge congrats to the authors!!!

ty is incredible for diagnostics AND as a language server! Orders of magnitude faster than Pyright and will eventually replace it. Still need Pyright for on-hover info for now, but we're moving toward a complete Astral-backed Python environment! ⚡

Today, we’re announcing the preview release of ty, an extremely fast type checker and language server for Python, written in Rust.

In early testing, it's 10x, 50x, even 100x faster than existing type checkers. (We've seen >600x speed-ups over Mypy in some real-world projects.)

I still get chills

Meet Mike
*30+ years severe depression
*first hospitalized @ 13y
*20 meds
*3 rounds of ECT
*2 near-fatal suicide attempts

Mike felt joy for the first time in decades after we turned on his new brain pacemaker or PACE

A must read for anyone interested in studying spatial navigation with #fUSI! 🧠🗺️

@felipecybis.bsky.social really opened up new possibilities with this one!👇

🚨 Preprint alert 🚨
The main results of my PhD are online and I only now could find some time to post about it!

We explored the neurovascular activations of spatial navigation by using functional ultrasound imaging (fUSI) in freely moving rats during open field.

Thanks JC, you were the one that started this awesome adventure! 🙌

I can still remember the months spent together to refine the preprocessing pipelines 🐭

Hope this helps others avoid some of the pain we went through back then! 💪

I’m all for #fUSI too! That way we keep a similar acronym to #fMRI. But the question was asked during the conference 😇

🧠✨ Amazing #fUSbrainDAYS2025 conference! Thanks to the organizers for bringing together the fUSI community.

Poll results (53 participants):
🏝️ Corsica vs Paris: 41 vs 11
🔬 fUSi vs fUS: 33 vs 14

Looks like we're heading to Corsica next year, and embracing #fUSI!

Systems neuroscientists could use a tool that allows them to tweak neuronal activity and record at the same time. The Neuropixels Opto probe, although still a protoype, might be such a device.
