O'Brien Location: 1900 Garnet Ave. Neighborhood: Pacific Beach Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 35-year old male was walking southbound on the east crosswalk of 1900 Garnet Ave against the red don't walk signal. A 21 year old male was riding a Suzuki 1500 motorcycle eastbound on 1900 Garnet Ave. The motorcycle collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The pedestrian sustained a lacerated liver, fractured femur, as well as several other fractures. The motorcyclist sustained multiple abrasions. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is handling the collision investigation. D.U.I. is not suspected. A 39-year-old woman crashed her SUV into a concrete wall in the Midway District. She suffered internal injuries requiring surgery. A passenger suffered a fractured pelvis and compound fracture to her ankle. Police suspect DUI. #VisionZero

Leisz Location: Rosecrans Street/Womble Road Neighborhood: Midway District Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 39 year old female drove her 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 SUV westbound on Womble Street at Rosecrans Street (a T-intersection). Instead of turning right or left, she continued straight and collided into a concrete wall. The female driver suffered internal injuries requiring surgery. A passenger in the vehicle, a 36 year old female, suffered a fractured pelvis and a compound fracture to her right ankle. Driving under the influence of alcohol is suspected. The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division is handling the investigation. An SUV driver struck a 38-year-old woman who was attempting to cross Mission Gorge Road in San Carlos. While she lay on the pavement, a driver in a Tesla ran her over. She died on the scene. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: 7500 Mission Gorge Rd Neighborhood: San Carlos Type: Fatal Collision Synopsis: A 47-year old male was driving a 2021 Honda CRV, southbound in the number two lane of 7500 Mission Gorge Rd. A 38-year old female pedestrian was walking westbound mid-block on 7500 Mission Gorge Rd. The driver of the CRV did not see the pedestrian until the last minute and ultimately collided with her. The pedestrian came to rest in the number two southbound lane of 7500 Mission Gorge Rd. A short time later, a 66-year old male driving a 2022 Tesla Model Y drove over the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded to the scene and is investigating the collision. An 89-year-old woman made a left turn from Imperial Avenue into the path of an oncoming heavy-duty SUV. The crash left the woman with two brain bleeds, a spinal fracture and a fracture to her eye socket. #VisionZero

The female driver was transported to a local hospital to be treated for two brain bleeds, a cervical spinal fracture and fractured orbital. Traffic units responded and will be handling. SUV northbound on Camino Del Rio West approaching a green traffic signal light at Hancock St. A 33-year old male pedestrian ran east across the intersection of Camino Del Rio West and Hancock St against the red don’t walk signal. The pedestrian ran into the path of the vehicle and was struck. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. S.D.P.D. For unknown reasons, the male made a movement to the right and exited the roadway. The male rode into dirt, where he lost control of his scooter and impacted the ground. O'Brien Location: 119 West C St Neighborhood: Core-Columbia Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 54-year old male was riding a bicycle west in the westbound lane of 100 West C Street. A 50-year old male was operating the MTS trolley on the westbound trolley lane. The trolley lanes were separated from the travel lanes by flexible delineators. The bicyclist rode southwest into the trolley lane in front of the trolley. The trolley collided with the bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined the bicyclist sustained life threatening head injuries, and is not expected to survive. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded to the scene and is handling the collision investigation. Perales Location: 4100 Sports Arena Boulevard Neighborhood: Midway Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 70-year-old male was riding a bicycle northbound in the marked bicycle lane on the 4100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard. A 29-year-old male was driving a 1992 Mazda pickup northbound in the adjacent traffic lane. The 70-year-old male turned left from the bicycle lane into the path of the 29-year-old male. The 70- year-old male was ejected from the bicycle, sustained fractured ribs, a tibia fracture, a fibula fracture, a collapsed lung, and was transported to a local hospital. The injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. Alcohol was not a factor in this collision. San Diego Police Department Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. Incident: 30968 BegDateTime: 09/21/25 21:15 EndDateTime: Beat: 122 Watch Commander: Woodell Location: Ingraham Street and Oliver Avenue Neighborhood: Pacific Beach Type: Serious Injury Accident Synopsis: A 31 year old female (P-2) was driving a Mazda CX-5 vehicle (V-2) Northbound in the #1 lane of Ingraham Street at Oliver Avenue. A 57 year old male (P-1) was riding Eastbound on his bicycle on Oliver Avenue and proceeded into the intersection with Ingraham Street after failing to stop for a stop sign. P-1 broadsided P- 2. P-1 was knocked to the ground in front of V-2. P-2 exited V-2 without placing V-2 into park. V-2 rolled over P-1. P-2 tried to re-enter V-2 and unintentionally pressed the accelerator. P-2 collided with a curb and a metal gate. P-1 suffered multiple fractured ribs. DUI was not a factor in this event. Traffic Division officers investigated this accident. A 31 year old female (P-1) was walking Southbound in the Eastbound #1 lane of La Jolla Village Drive from the center median and into P-2’s path of travel. P-2 collided with P-1. O'Brien Location: 1400 S. 43rd St. Neighborhood: Mountain View Type: Hit and Run Collision (Injury) Synopsis: Fault has yet to be determined: A 43-year old male was riding a purple Harley Davidson motorcycle. He turned northbound from 4300 Beta St to 1400 S 43rd. St. The motorcyclist veered from the northbound number two lane, to the northbound number one lane. He stated a vehicle overtook him from behind, passed him on the left, then made a movement to the right. The vehicle collided with the motorcycle, causing the motorcyclist to fall to the ground. The vehicle left the scene continuing northbound on 43rd St. The motorcyclist described it as a dark colored sedan. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. 48-year-old woman struck a man who was attempting to cross Grand Avenue in Pacific Beach. He suffered life-threatening injuries, including a spinal fracture, brain bleed, dislocated knee and collapsed lung. #VisionZero

Perales Location: 2500 Grand Avenue Neighborhood: Pacific Beach Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 39-year-old male was crossing north, mid-block on 2500 Grand Avenue. A 48-year-old female was driving a blue Toyota Prius west in the number one lane on 2500 Grand Avenue. The female struck the male in the westbound travel lane. The male sustained a spinal fracture, a brain bleed, a dislocated knee and a collapsed lung. The male was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in this collision. San Diego Police Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. A waste hauler drove over the left leg of a man who was laying on the ground in an alley in Hillcrest. The man suffered multiple serious injuries to his ankle and foot, including "degloving" — when tissue is ripped off the bone. Victim is expected to survive. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: W/A 4000 Front St. Neighborhood: Hillcrest Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: FAULT HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED: A 25-year old male was driving a waste management truck southbound in the west alley of 4000 Front St. A 41-year old male was lying in the west alley of 4000 Front St. As the vehicle drove past the male, it appears he placed his left leg in the path of the waste management truck. The truck drove over the male's leg. The male suffered a left lateral open ankle, and 5th metatarsal fracture. He also sustained a significant degloving of his left foot. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined his injuries were non life threatening. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded, and is handling the investigation.
