Inspired by a Goulet Pens sticker, inked up a winged beast relaxing in a cup of tea with a Lamy Safari Fountain Pen. Perhaps day dreaming of an upcoming feast with friends and family.

New study out in Ecology Letters 🌱🐑!

Using long-term Åland monitoring data, we found that herbivory increases plant diversity across scales and flips the diversity–area relationship: a positive relationship is found in grazed sites while a negative one in ungrazed sites.

Herbivory Modifies the Role of Spatial Processes in a Grassland Plant Metacommunity
We empirically examined how mammalian herbivory interacts with habitat size and connectivity to affect plant diversity in a natural grassland metacommunity. We found that herbivory increased plant di...

I'm really excited to see this paper by @fernpizza.bsky.social, @baym.lol, et al. This is a great model system for studying multilevel selection, and the experimental work builds nicely on cross-scale theoretical modeling approaches that I've enjoyed learning about over the past few years. 🧵
Hot off the press! Our latest paper led by @fernpizza.bsky.social, understanding how plasmids evolve inside cells. These small, self-replicating DNA circles live inside bacteria and carry antibiotic resistance genes, but also compete with one another to replicate. 1/

Intracellular competition shapes plasmid population dynamics

This is a reminder that @asn-amnat.bsky.social publishes abstracts in both English and your native language, using your native alphabet. You can see and read those online. Here is a screenshot of a great example. Love seeing this in my favorite journal.
