The photos from a UN fact finding mission to northern Gaza which were part of a diplomatic cable suppressed by the US Ambassador to Israel, Jack Lew, have been released by Drop Site News. These are the genocidal conditions in Gaza that Lew specifically tried to hide from the White House and public.

Look at the photos. The thing I heard often working on the USAID Gaza response from our partners in Gaza was the field of dead bodies - men, women, children - that fanned out around IDF checkpoints in the Netzarim corridor. Shot by IDF soldiers for no reason (unless "for fun" counts as a reason).

This decision, I believe, was in significant part taken so that Trump could seize center stage at the annual Davos conclave of the very rich and thoroughly objectionable after Carney’s landmark speech, that the US-led world order is no longer and had always been an illusion, generated too many headlines for the uber-narcissist’s liking. Then, Abracadabra, the missing remains suddenly materialize. Not because Hamas located them and handed them over to Israel, but because the Israelis miraculously found them within in an area of the Gaza Strip that remains under direct Israeli military control. In other words, the remains had been there all along. Either Israel had until that moment been unaware of their location, and found them at the very last moment through a stroke of extraordinary good fortune, or it had long known where to find these remains, but chose not to retrieve them in order to use their absence as a pretext to indefinitely prolong the first phase of the plan. Take your pick.

The claim continues to be routinely repeated, without challenge, including in progressive political spaces, despite the lack of substantiating evidence. More than 27 months later, Israel has not produced enough evidence to convince a single independent international body, including the UN Commission of Inquiry, or major human rights organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, that even a single incident of rape definitively occurred on October 7. These unsubstantiated allegations function as a propaganda tool, used to dehumanize Palestinians and to justify continued U.S. and Israeli mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Kansas just passed a monstrous bill enabling criminal penalties and vigilante lawsuits for trans people using the bathroom according to their gender identity and requires them to surrender their current drivers licenses and birth certificates if it does not match their sex assigned at birth.

What the FSU misses (purposely) here is that X is the one "creating the material"

The images are being generated by xAI's Grok.

The reason that such actions aren't considered for Meta and OpenAI is that they take action to prevent these uses.

Musk makes minimal guardrails a product goal.

As someone outside the US, it is deeply disturbing to listen to normally decent US media people approach the US’s actions in Venezuela not from ‘who are we to abduct someone from a sovereign country’ but rather ‘can we run them remotely’. They just assume the right to police the world as a given.

I don’t have a hot take on US imperial aggression in Venezuela because it’s not new - it’s standard US behaviour.

The US has toppled regimes in South America for decades and decimated Iraq on made-up charges for access to oil.

None of this is new or novel; it’s well-practiced US imperialism.
