Happy #SpyroCommunityDay!
Here's a collection of all in-game menu books, made real as a hobby of my Sister. Each hand-crafted and LOADED them with fun commentary, artwork, stats & secrets from each game!

Would a PDF of each of these be of any interest?
I'm itching to practice on more semi-complex sticker designs! I don't have the final vinyls, so I'm printing on a thinner clear laminate vinyl at the moment. Spot-white & clear (including gradients of either), CMYK & multi-layered printing for textures & 2-sided. Have a fitting design? Poke me!
Spot-gloss effects are WILD and simple to make! A solid black silhouette or B&W gradient from ~50% ─ 100% is all that's required. Same with opaque white!

And yes, I can print on top of spot-gloss to create color ~raised "2.5D" effects~ (not pictured here).

P.S. Excuse my white misalignment here!

More or less, yeah! At least with this machine, I can apply white in the same pass as other colors. When applying white, however, spot-gloss is only possible with a retract and 2nd pass of printing. Still, it does a fantastic job at alignment when I have it right in the software. haha
January 8, 2026 at 2:21 AM
I did that! This was because I rushed the design to further train myself and made the white later a bit bigger than it needed to be so the white retract setting wasn't enough. Retracting it too much doesn't look as good I think.

Thank you very much for the offer!!
I had a local friend come over and help me understand things a bit more. Plus, I've been watching random videos online like crazy to pick up bits and pieces and I think I finally have some grasp on everything :D Excited to see how far I can push this software!

It feels UNREAL it's so neat! Headaches left and right almost making me regret taking this path but I can see the struggles will be worth it, as long as the machine continues to run smoothly.

Complete with spot-gloss effects on the eyes, nose, claws and teeth. This UV ink should hold up better than my previous inks without even requiring laminate. In fact, I won't offer it for spot-gloss effects like this.

Remember that Double-Sided Sticker idea I was talking about? Now you can see it!

Ink is built up in such a way to bring new creativity to peekers. You no longer have to see a black white vinyl from the inside of your car! Obviously, works best on glass. See other post for final result! ↓↓↓

That said, the setup time for each design has went up heavily with this printer. Setup on multiple designs takes 3 times longer than before, but I plan to continue making it simple for everyone else at least!

The UV ink is incredibly durable. Resists fading and scratches without laminating, even!

You're all going to see it here first!

These are some of the first [rough] tests while I get over this new equipment & software's learning curve. Couldn't have done it without help from @drexotter.bsky.social with @weaselgear.com !

This printer is POWERFUL when used right. I am INCREDIBLY EXCITED!

Man, so much work. Making stickers has just become 3 times as resourceful as it once was. There's no way I'm going to survive this without raising my prices and reducing bulk-design savings and I was trying to avoid that at all costs.. Plus, I have no knowledge in illustrator OR photoshop ⚰️πŸ”ͺ

As soon as I master creating contour outlines around PNGs in Illustrator, as well as basic image manipulation, I'll be unstoppable. Or really, whatever software exports as .EPS and can work with PNGs and not vectors exclusively. That's so far a pretty big issue.

There wouldn't happen to be any creative individuals here who have mastered the impressively annoying software "Raster Link 7" by any chance, would there?

I technically also need to master software, such as Illustrator, capable of creating .EPS files with PNGs and not Vectors..
January 2, 2026 at 9:45 PM
I have Illustrator CS6 and Mimaki Raster Link 7 as my tools. I'm told to make the cut lines in Illustrator as well as desired spot-gloss effects (for more control) and then import into Raster Link to assign each layer to Cut/Gloss/White etc and layout for printing. It's a huge headache so far.

Okay, so my basic training on this machine was so basic, that I'm left with huge machines that I still have not the slightest clue how to control.

The dude RACED through everything, tapping, clicking everything πŸ™ƒ BUT, he printed one spot-gloss sample! I've absolutely 0 clue how to replicate it.

Very good point!
December 30, 2025 at 5:18 AM
This thing turns its self on every 20 minutes on the dot to keep the white ink circulating and healthy, and it clicks and buzzes each time. Otherwise the $6K worth of print heads will clog and fail. The shop will never, ever be quiet ever again.
December 30, 2025 at 5:10 AM
I could have gotten even bigger for +$2K more, but 4.5FT is already plenty for our use in this shop. 6FT would be insane!

I HAVE THE NEW EQUIPMENT AT LAST!!
Training begins tomorrow. This machine is a beast and requires delicate paw-holding every step of the way.

I will begin my hunt for materials soon, and then LOADS of solo-learning through January to perfect everything.
December 30, 2025 at 2:02 AM
I just received word that the printer finally re-appeared and made its way to the local installers yesterday morning!!

If all goes well, the new equipment will be installed as early as THIS MONDAY AAAAAAAAAAA

Updates to follow!
