Your lack of interest in politics does not mean politics has no interest in you. — Pericles
Sending people to hellish prisons and calling it “policy”? This is not governance—it is the embodiment of cruel and callous tyranny. America should be a symbol of freedom and justice, not a purveyor of suffering and shame. All those complicit in condoning such actions must face legal scrutiny.

The compromise isn't complicated: Keep the healthcare tax credits that people depend on to survive, then stop playing this shutdown game. American families are struggling with medical bills, while politicians continue to play political games.
It's a very simple compromise: Protect existing health care credits, end the shutdown.
We must take action on rising costs for families who are shopping for their health care right now, and we can end this shutdown.

It's truly disheartening. For many families, holidays were once symbols of warmth and togetherness, but now they've become sources of stress. If leaders aren't even willing to hear the term “affordability,” it shows they've lost touch with the realities of people's lives.
Christmas isn't a possibility for many this year. Trump's response? "I don't want to hear about the affordability."

This statement completely inverts the facts. Russia's invasion of Ukraine was not driven by Biden's “push,” but by Putin's decision to wage aggression. Portraying the victimized nation as the culprit only bolsters the dictator's narrative and demonstrates a complete lack of accountability.
Trump lies shamelessly: "Biden actually pushed for that war to happen. And now look what's happened to Ukraine. It's a much smaller country."

Is it fear of speaking the truth?
Or fear of offending one side or the other?
In any case, silence can sometimes be more revealing than an answer.

John Thune was just on Fox News but somehow hosts did not ask him to weigh in on Trump's demands to kill the filibuster. Clearly this is a difficult topic for Republicans.

Indeed, if the lockdown continues through Thanksgiving, many families and businesses will be severely impacted, and the situation is indeed not looking good.

All are equal before the law no one should be exempt from legal responsibility due to their status, position, or other factors. Whether law enforcement officers, government officials, or ordinary citizens, all must abide by the same legal provisions. The law must not be allowed to lose its authority
Mamdani: "My message to ICE agents & to everyone across this city is that everyone will be held to the same standard of the law. If you violate it, you must be held accountable. There is sadly a sense growing that certain people are allowed to violate that law, whether they be POTUS or ICE agents."

This is an inspiring moment, and we hope these elected leaders will deliver on their promises to advance realistic, pragmatic policies that benefit the people. The road ahead remains long, but progress is always built step by step. We look forward to seeing more positive changes.
Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

It sounds very real and is indeed concerning.
Maintaining parliamentary procedures and institutional checks and balances is indeed crucial. Otherwise, once things spiral out of control, it could have far-reaching consequences.

Mike Johnson: "Imagine a scenario where they were in charge and they didn't have the filibuster. We would have nationalized elections, they would infringe on our 2A rights, they'd pack the Supreme Court, and they'd make Puerto Rico and DC states."

He really treats “I don't know” as his universal excuse.
An international financial figure involved in hundreds of billions of dollars—and the U.S. president claims he “doesn't know who he is”?
That's either incompetence or feigning ignorance. Neither looks good.

Frankly speaking, this constant delay only harms those who need help the most. Policy disputes are one thing, but basic survival guarantees must not be sacrificed.
TAPPER: When can we expect the Trump administration to make SNAP payments?
BESSENT: Well, President Trump just truthed out that he needs to hear from the courts

He voiced a concern shared by many: Leaders should have a clear policy vision, not rely on incitement and chaos. Leadership lacking principles and accountability only plunges the nation into instability. It is precisely because we care about our country that we must remain vigilant.

We must certainly avoid waste, but we must also remember: many families rely on this money to provide their children with basic food. Reforms can be discussed, but vulnerable groups must not be harmed in the process.
ROB SCHMITT: People are using SNAP benefits to get their nails done, to get their weaves and their hair. This is a really ugly program.
SEN. RON JOHNSON: That program needs to be dramatically reformed.

Increased attention is a positive development, but one crucial point must not be overlooked: these policies directly impact the quality of life for children, the elderly, and low-income families. Any reform should prioritize their safety and dignity above all else.
Brooke Rollins: "I guess the silver lining in all of this is that we're having a national conversation on our SNAP program. This has shined a light on a program that especially under the last administration has just become so bloated."

Leaders must possess clear judgment, a stable mental state, and a firm moral compass. Otherwise, greater power brings greater risk.
A nation is not a toy, and its nuclear arsenal is certainly not a tool for venting temper. We deserve more reliable, more rational, and more responsible leadership.

A long-deranged and deeply depraved man with a pronouncedly and acceleratingly deteriorating mind announces that he intends to play with the large arsenal of nuclear weapons he controls.
But it's okay, because he's not seeking a third term.

How shocking! It's outrageous that a pastor who just prayed for people was treated so harshly.
Pastor David Black was shot in the head with pepper balls while praying for ICE detainees.
🎥 Watch him speak out:
"While we are sitting here, masked men who are equipped for war are terrorizing communities in Chicago."

Shouldn't the next campaign slogan be changed to “Make Argentina Great Again”?
Trump won’t lower health care costs, he won’t help American farmers, he won’t feed working families, but he will give his loyalists in Argentina $40 billion.

Such behavior not only endangers judicial justice, but also makes the power supervision mechanism ineffective, which is extremely dangerous to the long-term development of the country.
Trump is weaponizing the Justice Department to give himself millions in taxpayer dollars, attack his political enemies, and protect who he considers his friends.
This is a threat to the justice system and the rule of law.
