ICE pepper sprayed Arizona’s Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva in the face during a raid in Tucson. This reckless, illegitimate agency is out of control. This deplorable behavior of masked, rogue men must be condemned by all who care about the constitution and our freedoms. #FuckICE

Today Phoenix El School Boardmember Erika Ovalle and I visited La Palma Prison in Eloy, operated by private prison company CoreCivic. We spoke with people living there about the conditions, systemic problems within DOC, and ideas for reform.

Mesa Police tried to charge a community and union leader with criminal trespassing for documenting ICE activity today. Martín Hernandez was released after pressure from the community and leadership from Rep. Lorena Austin. 👏🏽

The President of the USA called for the execution of sitting Democrats, including our Senator Mark Kelly. I am sick, sad, and scared for our society. This demands a rebuke from GOP Senators.

Thank you for your service and defense of the constitution, Senator Kelly.
I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

Phoenix passed its Missing Middle Housing ordinance to comply with the law I co-sponsored HB 2721. Research proves: increasing housing options for renters and first-time homebuyers slows rent growth, makes homeownership more attainable, and diversifies our neighborhoods.

Phoenix City Council meeting on Missing Middle Housing ordinance is embarrassing. Other cities implemented it citywide. 5th largest city in US can’t get it together and is fighting tooth-and-nail to evade state law and stop the building of new homes while we’re in a housing shortage. Sad.

My constituent's Affordable Care Act plan jumped from $209 to $710. At 63 and with a chronic disease, she's considering going without insurance. Republicans want to strip people of healthcare so badly, they are willing to let people starve over it. It's depraved. Health care is a human right.

Average age of a first-time homebuyer is now 40! Young people should not be locked out of opportunities to build generational wealth. Phx's Missing Middle ordinance still requires compliance with Historic Design guidelines. It should be adopted to comply w/ state law.

Let the Democratic establishment take note: working people are fed up and we want REAL representation that will stand up to the corporate class. Playing it safe is a losing strategy. We don’t say this to be divisive. We say this because we can’t afford to keep fucking losing.

The Democratic establishment's ugly reaction to Zohran Mamdani reveals an unpleasant truth.

They would rather lose elections than change.

The addiction to rich donors and consultants is killing the party. But Mamdani shows a path out. An analysis.

More than 20% of households in Legislative District 24 rely on SNAP or cash assistance. Now Republicans are pulling the safety net out from under our hardworking families by taking food off tables and spiking healthcare costs. To say I'm pissed is an understatement.
Here is a quick list of food banks and affordable food options for families in the West Valley who are impacted by Trump’s government shutdown. Whether you're losing SNAP benefits, been furloughed, or want a place to donate/volunteer, I hope this guide is helpful to you.

Working people don’t need “budgeting tips.” They need a fair share of the wealth they create.
