Minneapolis delegation to the MN Senate: ICE is a direct threat to the life and liberty of every member of our community and is only bringing chaos and violence.

The agents who participated must be arrested and brought to justice in a transparent and thorough investigation.

The tally of constitutional rights violations by ICE agents in Minnesota is staggering, we need accountability.

DFL Senators Bobby Joe Champion and Omar Fateh just announced their bill to enable Minnesotans to sue for civil and monetary damages for constitutional violations by federal agents.

Today dozens of doctors from across the state and spanning specialities, came together to raise the alarm on the impact of ICE on patients in our hospitals and clinics.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is not just about history, it’s about fighting for our future. When people are targeted and fear is used as a tool, we must respond with moral clarity. In Minnesota, we stand up for our neighbors, reject racial profiling, and fight for justice that includes everyone.

Senate and House DFL lawmakers agree: Any ICE presence in health care settings endangers everyone.

We urge Minnesota hospitals to ensure every patient has can remain safe in their care. ICE needs to leave.

Minnesotans deserve safety, dignity, and full protection of the law. We strongly support the AG's efforts to defend our state’s sovereignty, uphold the constitution, and put an end to illegal action.

We stand with our neighbors, and state and local leaders in demanding accountability and justice.

The Native American Caucus condemns the illegal ICE detention of Oglala Sioux relatives and a Red Lake Nation descendant, and interrogation and harassment of countless community members.

Deportation of people who have existed on these lands is not only impossible, it is absurd.

Our schools must remain a safe place for every student, parent, and educator. The continued presence of ICE in our state is causing further trauma, chaos, and grief for our schools.

The Senate Education Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs call on ICE leave our students, and our state, alone.

Anything short of a full and honest investigation into the ICE killing of Renee Nicole Good is an insult to her memory, everything she stood for, and everything we stand for as Americans. The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension must be involved in the investigation.

Sen. Zaynab Mohamed today:
January 9, 2026 at 5:18 PM
Tomorrow we observe a Day of Unity in honor of Renee Good, who was killed by ICE.

10AM - STATEWIDE MOMENT OF SILENCE

4-5:30PM - VIGIL OF ACTION AND MOURNING, MN Capitol

In the face of such extreme violence, Minnesotans stand up for our neighbors. We will seek accountability and justice.

We are horrified by the news that an ICE Agent has shot and killed a person in Minneapolis today.

The Minneapolis Delegation to the Minnesota Senate released the following statement. ICE must be held accountable, and leave our city and state now.

Trump’s lies led to Jan. 6. His pardons of violent extremists condoned attacks on democracy and political violence.

Republicans who refuse to condemn it are choosing power over democracy. We must preserve our history honestly. Our democracy only survives if we defend it.
