This is not Discord โwalking things back.โ This is them further explaining the situation in more detail, and elaborating on how the new system will work. I understand the impulse to attribute this to outrage and Nitro cancellations, but this is just a better explanation, not a change.
Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)

a reminder that the ID system, collective shout and other orgs like them, and right wing politicians are all essentially working together to dismantle the internet and control it. that is their goal and they have never been quiet about it. they've wanted to seize control of it for a long time.
