Today I learned this is because, after President Garfield was assassinated in 1881, people on Macomb St asked to honor Garfield with a renaming. They were also tired of their street being confused with Macon St in Bed-Stuy

The good news is that my retired nurse mom loved this book I got her. The bad news is that now she insists that I read it. The other good news is that the book is great! But then the bad news is that there’s just so much tuberculosis in it
