We applaud the efforts of SMC members Jana and @christianaraos.bsky.social in working with @progintl.bsky.social at Neustra America for the adoption of the San Carlos Declaration. Christian and Jana successfully advocated for the inclusion of language concerning the rights of migrants in the US.

I thought my book of Richard Yates short stories would be fun to read on the train and was immediately confronted with a story of heartbreak in a 1950s VA tuberculosis ward

It’s so cold out that the rear brake on my bike won’t work. But I should be totally fine as long as I don’t encounter any unusually slippery surfaces

He calls himself my friend, but @lurrie.bsky.social only came up with the slogan “Seth Before Dishonor” when he heard some other guy named Seth is running for office. Interesting

How did Eric Adams add MORE levels of scammery here?
the plot thickens: “Meanwhile, a self-proclaimed tech entrepreneur, Eddie Cullen, reached out to THE CITY to say he was shocked about Adams’ announcement, claiming that he’d pitched the idea to the then-Mayor last summer and even trademarked its name NYCToken.”
Eric Adams’ Crypto Coin Accused of Scamming Investors, Hijacking Trademark
The value of The NYC Token spiked and then collapsed, while the undisclosed investors removed liquidity from it.

I love my local cheese shop. I love the cheesemonger who’s always reading a novel and has a fun take on it.

🚨 Lydia is running for Assembly in a district that voted for Zohran by 74-26 in the primary… without the incumbent’s endorsement
My name is Lydia Green. I’m a leftist organizer, Democratic District Leader, & queer Jewish NYer. And I’m running to represent district 52 in the NYS Assembly. Brooklyn is my home, and I believe it should be a livable home for all.

Europe must “persuade younger Europeans that their heritage, culture and way of life — a fundamentally Christian civilization leavened and improved but not erased by the values of the Enlightenment — are worth defending,” our columnist Bret Stephens writes.

Hi from the most festive house in South Slope
December 3, 2025 at 7:20 PM
These two buildings in Park Slope call the same street different names.

Today I learned this is because, after President Garfield was assassinated in 1881, people on Macomb St asked to honor Garfield with a renaming. They were also tired of their street being confused with Macon St in Bed-Stuy

The good news is that my retired nurse mom loved this book I got her. The bad news is that now she insists that I read it. The other good news is that the book is great! But then the bad news is that there’s just so much tuberculosis in it
As the U.S. Government endeavors to make tuberculosis great again, please consider preordering a signed copy of my book about our deadliest infection, its long history, and why in the 75 years since TB became curable, we've allowed over 150,000,000 people to die of the disease. everythingistb.com
