You shouldn’t ask a tiny village of 8000 people to become a 24 hour a day seven day a week center of protest just because Donald Trump has a Jones to destroy Democratic cities and a particular hatred of black women politicians like the mayor of Broadview.

And I don’t know why you’re arguing with me about something that I have no control over? The decision was made by the residents and the mayor of the village Broadview. The protesters by and large are not residents. When they are done shouting., They get to go home to whatever quiet place they live.

ICE agents have broken every law regarding arrest & detention of people who may be on the US unlawfully. The problem lies entirely with the present administration & with Secretary Noem & ICE. I advise you to read more about the events before you criticize.

The Federal government owns the property. It was designed to process someone who was arrested, & held for a few hours before being transferred. Since the lawless Trump admin took office, the facility holds detainees for untold days, & ICE agents deny access to even US Senators.

There have been protesters there for years and years and years. Ice has sprayed pepper balls, and tear gas at protesters, which is not contained. The wind spreads it throughout the neighborhood which means residence gets into their homes and the employees at the local businesses have to breathe it.

Protesters are there every single day. They are not easy to ignore. The numbers of people who come are great. Even before this big surge of rest were happening, groups of Catholics were standing in front of that facility, Praying the rosary at least once a week to draw attention to the injustice.

Chicago doesn’t need the National Guard. It needs institutional change. It needs distribution of resources to serve all people. The National Guard doesn’t play a role in institutional reform.

Broadview residents requested that protest hours be curtailed so that they could have quiet evenings to get their children to bed. The mayor made the decision at the request of residents, so police are following the decision made by the village. They are not the enemy. Focus your anger on ICE.

True Christians are anti-Fascist, or antifa. We are legion. Jesus told us to love one another (John 13:34). This pastor was injured while exhorting to the ICE agents to soften their hearts & in turn 1 of them aimed aimed & shot him in the head with a pepper ball. Shame on ICE & shame on Joel Berry.
