Write & ask PM Carney to fund a National Citizens Assembly on Healthcare for these 3 core issues:

1) Jurisdiction
2) For Profit vs Non-Profit delivery
3) At Fault vs No-Fault harm in care compensation.

S Korea Nationalized healthcare and it paid off big time.

Petitions with some actual potential for action have the ability to influence real change.

A new petition a week is too much, quarterly or semi annually could be sustainable for big topics.

I'm open to industry and engineering experts explaining carbon capture potential to me but at this point, I see it as capturing a small proportion of harmful emissions. The analogy that comes to mind is cigarette makers who claimed filters would make cigarettes safe. (They didn't, millions died.)

AMA statement on Health Minister Mandate letters:
While we appreciate the government’s focus on improving access, innovation and accountability, we are concerned that the mandate letters do not adequately address the need for integration across ministries.

If Provinces acted on the Pritchard Report we might be taking a different view on harm in healthcare.
Maybe more aligned with how aviation treats incidents and near misses.

Canadians paid an expert to review harm in care compensation, at fault vs no-fault.

A lot of harm claims never get filed because the CMPA. I wonder about stat accuracy on harm events in the system as a whole.

Allegedly the CMPA told politicians we cannot afford no-fault, meaning what?

The #AlbertaNext panel was such a mess. If you want to possibly trigger some investigations here are 3 letters that you could send. These FB links have templates you could use. I sent all 3. Sending today may be our last chance to have a say. Oct 10th might be last active day of panel.

The Con’s behave like juvenile delinquents, it’s frustrating we pay them to behave the is way.

We need an accountability act that allows the stripping of pensions and benefits and even banning from office.

Confusing?
The same Premier that ran down to the Maga leader with O’Leary betraying Canadians and resisting a united approach to the tariff war.

With WTI in the $60 range who will expand oil sand capacity to fill takeaway - for how long?

TMX has room to de-bottleneck, she is only driving division.

I completely agree with you. And the 2 tier system will only make things worse.

#cdnhealth further restricting vaping would be good.

I’d even support reversing its initial approval and make it prescription only for those actively in a program to quit smoking.

Good point, we need to start somewhere and this will help

Prov elections don’t have fact checking.

In BC the Con leader made false / incorrect statements on healthcare. These incorrect statements can mislead people that somehow 2 tier or private pay is better.

Looking at Japan and S Korea I totally disagree with 2 tier.

It’s frustrating to watch from outside Ontario too.

Premiers marched around for about 2 years demanding health transfers without strings.

They claimed the buck stops with them and they are accountable to their jurisdictions daily.

I disagree they are accountable…

This federal bill and petition on the Our Commons website will interest you.

I support both, but I think the bill should have come after more input from Canadians.

I believe the best path is a national citizens assembly, the past national commissions are generally ignored.

Support a citizens assembly on 3 key issues? ⤵️

Elections don’t go into appropriate detail of the most expensive service.

Politicians ignore expert research Canadians have paid for w/o consequence.

Even BC NDP silent on LifeLabs sale to foreign owners - the main lab 👎

Try to change the game on healthcare?

I don’t think there has been a proper mandate given to any premier to make the privatization changes some have been.

There also has been proper system failure accountability. Canadians need a group to be educated w/o bias

If the lawsuit is successful the settlement should go to public non-profit pharmacy creation?

LifeLabs was $7 dollar settlement for people. Absurd.

Auto class action on wiring harness was $25.

Bread fixing class action, $20?

These settlements shouldn’t go to individuals.
