"It's too cold for cold drinks. I'll heat up my chai protein powder in milk on the stove and have a chai latte."

I have never chewed a chai latte before in my life.

Time to settle in to update my health spreadsheet. I've maintained this for a year now, trying to track data to analyze and tailor how to recover from covid.

I am still so angry I have to do this, but I can see how it's helping.

AI is so haphazardly named/branded. Do we need to reckon with the energy/water usage of other forms of data center processing?

What things are marketed as AI that are actually relatively lean algorithms?

Do those concerned about H2O/energy need to reckon with their whole digital footprint?
I just learned there now are tools for detecting deepfakes.

But there is something terribly perverse about using AI tools to identify AI. Like, let's waste energy identifying how someone else wasted energy to try to manipulate you. 😭

Apologies to the handful of people that will see some of these on multiple platforms.
I realized my Bluesky account is rather sparse, because I moved all the shower thoughts I used to post to Twitter to discord. Trying to shift a bit of that for better marketing, so I hope to see y'all around more.

I keep avoiding my 2025 playlist, because I think of it as being too stressful to face.

Except I *made* the playlist to deal with the stress. [facepalm]

This one's my favorite. Try and stop me from reading The Raven aloud to someone tomorrow btw.
Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"
There was an old man you could gaze
At his works in despair in a daze
If you looked upon them
And were mere mortal men
'Ozymandias mighty', it says

The X-59 flew for the first time yesterday!!!

64,000 of us were tracking the flight, since we couldn't actually watch it live.

I met up with folks yesterday to celebrate the first flight of the X-59 and relearned that one of the furloughed civil servants has an etsy shop to sell nerdy cross stitch patterns: www.etsy.com/shop/picsnst...

I'm supposed to be recording book 2 this week to get it closer to publication and starting on the next round of revisions for book 3.

But I saw sad shutdown rumors and wanted something happy, so I just reread what I have so far of the sequel to book 7. No regrets.
