i think the biggest issue with how game design is presented these days is that it skips the frustration and serendipity. lots of genius design moments happen by coincidence and then the designer explains it in the future as a story. there's lots of emptiness that gets skipped over in gdc talks

i hate writing first drafts but i absolutely love revising my writing. get the baseline done and you can make it good later

those who say "gen ai allows me to create art when otherwise i did not have the resources" seem to not understand that art requires significantly less in terms of resources than ai, the difference is someone else has told you how to spend those resources

i have (accidentally) worked with data for like a decade and the biggest thing i've learned is that the things people will say out loud will always contradict the actual data, the only way to hold people accountable is to measure and disseminate that data

in kingdom hearts 2 na if you use a limit that combines you and another character into one object against a world boss, and then manually dismiss it as they take fatal damage, you hard crash to bios with a disk error

in kingdom hearts 2 na if you use a limit that combines you and another character into one object against a world boss, and then manually dismiss it as they take fatal damage, you hard crash to bios with a disk error
there's a concept in game design that there's 4 types of players, and while i think player tendencies are more nuanced than that, you can identify a player as one of these types pretty quickly
