Happy to see @desmog.com reporting that @liberalca.bsky.social is listening to quality policy ideas and adopting them. In this case, from @buildcanada.com

Turns out good ideas cross partisan lines and come from within and outside government

Terrific endorsement 🏗️🇨🇦

A year ago I struggled to imagine 🇨🇦 expressing the will, urgency, or need to prepare itself for what will happen over the the next few years.

@buildcanada.com has created that movement.

And this memo by @ddebow.bsky.social perfectly captures how we can get there.
Canada's prosperity depends on productivity growth but in recent years the country has been stagnant. Without productivity gains, Canada will fall behind economically. AI offers a chance to boost output across every sector but only if the government creates an environment that encourages adoption.
An AI Strategy to Build Canadian Prosperity
Productivity is the path to prosperity. AI is a general purpose technology that could help deliver productivity gains across every sector—but only if Canada acts with urgency.

I’m here for it.

This one is a banger.

It’s shocking how many Canadians remain skeptical of AI.

Why would you choose to show up at work and ask for a “Last Place” badge?

The same can be asked of a country.

Thankfully it seems 🇨🇦 is hustling for the podium.
Canada should become the world's most AI-literate nation.

This means every Canadian worker will use AI tools as naturally as they use email. Every government department will integrate AI to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Every entrepreneur will build companies powered by AI from day one.

After today if you’re anti Elon that means you’re pro Trump right? 🤔

Sorry, I don’t make the rules.

The United States Government will begin giving every child $1000 at birth and let me tell you, Bluesky is absolutely livid.

Reflecting on even @rutgerbregman.com acknowledging that Bluesky is a honeypot for the unhinged purity police.

I’d love to see Bluesky make it. Not sure what it will take though.

To that end, the Build Canada team has worked with entrepreneurs in our network to craft mandate letters for specific ministries that we believe will help transform the party’s policy agenda into action.

I’ll admit the signal of these survey results was stronger than I would have expected.

Turns out a strong majority of Canadians are united around a shared desire to build.
At Build Canada, we help builders share their ideas for a bolder, richer, freer country. We wanted to know how people felt about these proposals so we commissioned a survey.

The results are clear: Canadians are ready to build.

I’m trying my best to use @bsky.app

This is the primary reason it’s difficult
A lot of people on this site seem deeply angry and unhappy, and the posting and posting and posting just makes them more so -- it doesn't bring any relief.
April 22, 2025 at 3:40 PM
I should probably make more of an effort criticizing the efforts of those I care very little of.

I could spend more time posting about why I think it’s unfortunate that in an individual who received a full pension at age 31 may become our Prime Minister.
Let’s take a look at how Norway's wealth tax, initially projected to generate $146 million annually, instead resulted in a $448 million yearly loss.

If I had never used canadaspends.com to explore data about 🇨🇦 gov't spending, I would read this article by @jenstden.bsky.social and be left wondering if they are the baddies

But I have explored the data, and I know a little about the people behind it

So I guess I’m left wondering about @thetyee.ca
The effort to influence government policy and raise awareness of public spending is not trying to emulate billionaire Elon Musk’s controversial DOGE initiative in the U.S., a spokesperson for Build Canada and Canada Spends.

that “spokesperson” is me

for the record, i think i’ve heard of “the network state” like twice before Jen mentioned it to me. It’s not related to @build_canada in any way.

Sheesh. 🤦🏻 I want a thriving democracy, POGG, and growing prosperity for everyone - not a “network state” whatever that is…

Let’s build a ton of SMRs

It’s the only way we’ll meet 🇨🇦 energy demands.
History demonstrates a clear pattern: transformative economic progress follows leaps in available energy. Coal and steam powered the Industrial Revolution; electrification reshaped manufacturing in the 20th century.

Energy abundance is needed for prosperity.
