Makesnl sense at least for Tabasco, Tapatio, etc but not all hot sauces are vinegar based. Sriracha isn't, for example.

Yeah. Poison Ivy is probsbly the best known example of the straw man villain trope in comics, both for environmentalism and feminism. Magneto is the other big example.

Both of them, thankfully, have been somewhat redeemed by writers in modern times.
