It's been a while since I made any video content for my PETALS project after the (intense) Christmas advent series.

But I want to know what people would find useful.

Would it be deep-dives into some common team health topics?
How to use our PETALS app?
Some hot topics from across the industry?

How do you like to start your week on the front foot?

Most people struggle to get going on Monday mornings, coffee just doesn't cut it and the sheer scale of what you have to do is just demoralising.

But I like to mix my Mondays up with…

How have I kept a weekly podcast going for over 20 years?

The key is building a passionate community who enjoy contributing towards it. We all love the music we feature so it doesn't even matter if nobody listens.

As a father to two neurodivergent kids and probably on a spectrum myself, I’m really looking forward to an event I’m coordinating with my wife and cousin for supporting Neurodiversity in the workplace.

I often find I have a wave of ideas to share in Slack channels but hate bombarding them with all my noise.

I've started making better use of the "scheduled posts" instead, spreading messages or threads out on the most suitable days.

All the 6 Nations fun starts next Friday so I've updated 6nationscalendar.com/2026 with all the fixtures for your personal calendar without having to give away your email address.

Just hit the ADD TO CALENDAR button

(If you're feeling super kind, send me a drink to enjoy during the games). 🍺

We’re back from our festive break.

Testing isn’t dead.

Quality is everyone’s problem.

Episode 2.4 of Managing Engineers is out.
From QA to Quality Engineering.

If you’ve ever shipped something and thought “that’ll be fine”… it wasn’t.

Any @derbycounty.bsky.social fans heading to Pride Park for today’s #FACup tie against LUFC? It’s one of my rare trips with family so looking forward to some excitement.

"This Is For Everyone"

🌐✨ Just watched this incredible video of Sir Tim Berners-Lee at the London Olympics 2012, and it hit me right in the feels! 🤯 His message, “This Is For Everyone,” resonates more than ever in our digital age.

Just rewatched @timbl.bsky.social’s #London2012 Olympic moment after reading about it in his book.

“This Is For Everyone” feels even more important today, a reminder that the web should unite us, break down barriers and help us build a more inclusive digital future.

Just watched It's A Wonderful Life for probably the 15th time. Never tire of the traditional Christmas message that the struggle against rapacious capitalism is eternal and the solution is working together with your friends and family and not being the atomised worker only helping themselves.

Happy 35th Birthday WorldWideWeb – the first browser!

On December 25, 1990, at CERN, a British physicist and internet pioneer Tim Berners-Lee created the world's first web browser, called WorldWideWeb.

T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, except a geek still obsessing over his little side project.

What a year we’ve had though - and big love to everyone who’s been part of this movement in 2025.

My year in Cursor shows it’s mostly on side projects during the summer, tailing off in the autumn when I started using ChatGPT Codex instead.

It’s definitely the year I started putting agents to work for me though.

Teams don’t just work in straight lines.
Some thrive in tight-knit groups.
Others spark when they mix with new folks.

It’s worth stepping back and noticing where the energy really flows.

Gratitude isn’t just about big shout-outs.
Sometimes it’s a quiet thank you for something that genuinely mattered from the heart..

Make time this Christmas to say thank you to one of your team mates.
