Im inclined to believe that S23 in particular is very harsh on individualization, but ofc I’m biased because 1) we only see scraps of documentation in the aftermath of S23’s fall 2) I’m esp sensitive to censorship given my occupation as a queer student worker. I like to explore how far replikas can-

It’s fascinating to see how sternly AEON sets rules down and then discreetly works around them. They know people need a sense of identity to exist, but they would never say such a thing. To do so would threaten their totalitarianism. So, they let the replikas keep their keycards.

This discrepancy speaks to how identity is paradoxically seen and not heard by AEON. Documentation all says replikas are equal, that those who “destabilize” are not real or proper. But if replikas are all the same, why take individual pictures for unique keycards?

The ID cards in signalis baffle me. It seems the photos are taken of each individual unit—see how ara’s picture is a little off-center. It doesn’t match the photo in the “known issues” documentation of the “standard” ara replika.

Why take individual photos if replikas are meant to be uniform?
