More than half of U.S. stock trading is happening off the public exchanges, funneled into dark pools and internal trading desks of major Wall Street firms, per Bloomberg.

If it’s a pyramid scheme, it’s the worst one ever made: the founder disappeared, took $0 of profit, and the network has been running without a CEO for 15+ years. It’s simply a decentralized commodity.

BlueSky on Bitcoin:

20k→50k: silence.

50k→30k: “It’s dead!”

30k→60k: silence.

60k→45k: “Crash! Rug pull!”

45k→120k: silence.

120k→94k: “Scam!”

It makes higher highs and lower lows each time, but people want sooo badly for Bitcoin to not be a thing.

Bad news for you. It’s never going away. 😂

Gentle reminder.. Open source code is literally just that. Open source code.

It doesn’t care about political opinions, who’s using it for good or bad, or who’s advocating against it, or who’s changing it to be sold as something new.

More of the same.

“I don’t know anything about Bitcoin but love having baseless opinions on it.”
Cool story.

Y'all are still funding crime by using crypto.

Y'all are still attacking the environment.

Y'all are still rubes buying an invisible product whose value can be turned off at will.

But you really need to believe that you're smart and cool for being grifted by techbrofascists.

If Bitcoin is disqualified because Trump likes it, should we drop email, the internet and electricity too? I’m pretty sure he uses those daily.

It’s open and permission-less technology, folks.

People who we don’t like will use it, as well as people who depend on it and need it.

Detaching Bitcoin from oligarchy narratives is how we get progressives on board.

Too many lump Bitcoin into the oligarchy, dark crypto money, trump crypto corruption bucket.

Couldn’t be further from the truth - Bitcoin is the people’s money.

And now you can literally pay for a burger using Bitcoin in at any US merchant that uses Square.

Today, governments can see who buys what, who pays whom, and who donates to which cause. But they cannot easily trace or confiscate Bitcoin. The digital currency offers a lifeline to democratic movements operating in the most repressive places.

Friendly reminder: Bitcoin miners don’t compete with households for power. They go where no one else will—soaking up stranded wind, solar, and hydro that would otherwise go unused. This is a report with new data which contradicts headlines most people are used to.

The vast majority of negative media coverage about Bitcoin’s environmental impact came from a single debunked source, amazingly. See this analysis by Daniel Batten:

Folks here are saying that “bitcoin is bad because it’s used for money laundering”.

So, currencies used for money laundering are bad, and should be avoided at all costs. Got it.

Here’s the facts; for clarity, bitcoin is the column on the right 😉

Nations "borrow" purchasing power from their people to fund countless things ranging from innovation/security, to waging endless wars and expanding power

The wealthy in these nations hold assets that gain value over time, while the impoverished swim against an increased current of inflating prices

"The debt itself has no real-life consequences"

The people of Turkey disagree.
The people of Lebanon disagree.
The people of Argentina disagree.
The people of Venezuela disagree.
There aren't enough characters for me to voice the struggle and pain people have felt due to irresponsible national debt

I’m not trying to convince anyone to buy bitcoin. In fact, for arrogant critics, smug in their dogmatic faith in a broken economic paradigm, I’m happy that they remain sidelined while Bitcoin grows. I just want to set the record straight.

Here’s the differences between a pyramid scheme and Bitcoin.

This book was literally written for people who say “why should bitcoin exist?”

Let these philosophers explain ⬇️
There's good news. A new academic book, Resistance Money, has compiled over twenty of the most important objections to bitcoin and can bring anyone up to speed on the latest evidence, and the best replies to those objections. Bonus: it's fun reading too!
Resistance Money
Bitcoin is resistance money, empowering its users to resist authoritarians, inflation, surveillance, censorship, and financial exclusion.

Many bitcoin critics seem unaware that they're entering a mature debate, with extensive back-and-forth already in place. When we're already years deep in the empirical and theoretical evidence, outsiders who simply repeat the opening moves aren't going to get very far.
