Degrowthers lack practicality, such as mutually beneficial incentives. Fiat money depreciates & distorts economic signals with political intervention; bad incentives.

What inflation incentivizes is malinvestment, rampant speculation (especially speculative attack on the currency), over consumption, and short term thinking over long term planning.

Hyperinflation happened in Venezuela, Zimbabwe, North Korea, with runners up in Argentina, Sudan, Lebanon, Turkey.

It’s crazy that Tether is raising capital, but I guess that’s the world we live in. Easy fiat money to buy a fixed supply monetary asset with an >25% CAGR - good times for those who can see it.

Store of value is a core function of money. Fiat money is inflationary, designed to rob the population of purchasing power over time. Bitcoin is deflationary, designed to grow in purchasing power over time.

Yes, bad choice of legalese. “Ethical duty” maybe would have been better, at the risk of irony. I hope they come clean about their breach of trust, and explain why they thought their specific actions were justified, and quickly.
