Last Saturday, Jinan Metro opened 3 new metro lines (L4, L6, L8), totaling over 85km of new metro which doubled the size of the Jinan Metro to ~182 kilometers. Jinan then followed up this up with the opening of a 36km long suburban mostly grade separated LRT line today. (1/4)

I was looking at Chinese metro lines on Amap (Gaode Maps) and also checked what it depicts Europe like.

On the one hand it polskified Chorleywood (?!), on the other hand it has better detail of Dortmund metro stations than Google Maps??

Strasbourg news media is fascinated with the short sections of the new tram F extension where trams share the car lane. They compare it with the "classic network", i.e. where trams always have their own lanes/right-of-way 😂

what stupid system is this: normal bus replaced by a "taxi bus" after 8 pm. You need to call or book (ancient web form) 30 minutes ahead, but only before 8 pm 🙄

Of course, the night on-demand taxi (Anrufsammeltaxi) that replaces the taxibus after 10 pm can still be booked (different phone number 🤡)

parking perfectly so that trams can pass by just about (I got on the next tram through that door that was blocked 80% by the van 🤪)

sometimes I'm proud of myself: missed my stop because I was too focused on reading about French TER contracting. Managed to quickly find an alternative route two stops later, taking a ferry across Rhine with time to spare. Withdrawing cash wasn't even necessary, the ferry had contactless payment 😳

Ich bin nicht oft in Frankfurt, deswegen kenne ich das Stadtbahnnetz dort nicht so gut. Schon beeindruckend, diese 100 Meter langen, durchgängig begehbaren Züge, die aber dennoch theoretisch am Straßenverkehr teilnehmen könnten 😳

Darüber hinaus wird die Verbundgesellschaft in ihrer Eigenschaft als SPNV-Aufgabenträgerin im Kreis Bergstraße die zukünftige Ausgestaltung der Weschnitztalbahn untersuchen. Der Gutachter soll hier für die Strecke Weinheim – Fürth i.O. verschiedene Szenarien betrachten mit der Zielstellung, die Attraktivität des heutigen Angebotes mit Dieselfahrzeugen auf dieser Strecke nach Auslaufen des heutigen Verkehrsvertrages durch eine Elektrifizierung deutlich zu verbessern. Eine Variante im Rahmen der Elektrifizierungsüberlegungen ist hierbei auch die mögliche Einbindung der Strecke in das Meterspurnetz der rnv.
