Hearing the beautiful old ornate stand at the Morwell Falcons stadium is to be replaced the the brutalist structure in the 2nd pic.

So sad - surely a part of the games history can be brought up to date & saved?

Let’s hope today is the day. It’s long overdue.
Today is D-Day for Perry Park and the Olympics. BNE deserves an Olympic legacy and Perry Park should be a part of that legacy.

Regardless of outcome, thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and gave time to the PP campaign over the last 18 months. We'd have been nowhere without you.

Some news for those who have asked…sadly, The Global Game won’t be returning to the airwaves, at least for now. I believe the show has been unable to secure sponsors.

This is where ⚽️ is in Australia, unfortunately.

Thanks to all who listened & all our contributors 👍

Football Australia has submitted an EOI to host the (Men’s) Asian Cup in 2031, as a stand-alone bid.

All things considered (especially as the AL is largely ignored by mainstream media), these figures aren’t too bad. A couple still need a lot of work, but these numbers would be the envy of large parts of Asia…which is where we are, not Europe…

So, no Canberra in the ALM for 25/26, and the ALW team will need to resolve its funding issues soon, as they want to lock in the schedule by the end of March.

Disappointing, but not surprising, given the silence of late. APL still hopeful of 26/27 for the ALM’s.

⚽️ in Australia is 150 years old (at least) in 2025 - the 1st officially recorded game being in Goodna in Aug 1875.

Any plans to commemorate/celebrate this @footballaustralia @footballqueensland?

Interesting that whenever the moronic mango has a big day in the US (election/inauguration), there follows some fairly wild fluctuations in followers/algorithms at the other place.

Time to start building here methinks. #Bots

So let me get this straight - $500m for Perth (State) & $600m for PNG (Fed), for a sport making $120m in profits in 2yrs?

What did ⚽️ get for hosting a World Cup? Half a tin roof in Adelaide, a training ground in Melbn, and a few new ladies bogs.

Righto.
WA Gov funding would be worth $350m -$500m and would include a proposal to increase Perth’s rectangular HBF Park from 22,500 to 27,000 and upgrade the facilities to ensure the new team could earn up to 70% of its game-day revenue from corporate partnerships.
