"Player" is very clear; it's the one who is playing. "Gamer," on the other hand...setting aside the connotations of the term, it implies that you're talking about a hobbyist--and you don't actually know if the person playing your game plays games on the regular! So it's "player" for me.

Do you use "players" or "gamers" when you talk about the people who will be experiencing your game?

My take on the best games of the century: it is 2025. Even if you had played more than a tiny fraction of the games currently in existence (something hardly possible given the pace of releases), the number of games yet to exist this century would still dwarf that. A pointless, hubristic exercise.

I think people underestimate their ability to help support a game just by telling a friend about it.
