Saw some NASB grinders members posting these a few days ago so thought it'd be fun to do

4 years ago today, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was originally released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam worldwide. It was developed by Ludosity/Fair Play Labs and published by GameMill Entertainment.

Thank you NASB 1, for helping me make so many great friends and memories via a funny Nicktoons fighting game

I have made so many wonderful memories with them and cherish those along with the people I've met through them. Including but not limited to: Dille, Cherry, Flint, Scooter, Bean, Fig, Lawtumn, Lucie, CTEM, Nate TheFatManatee, Garfieldfan6, Lunch Eater, Tessy, Hyper Crasher, Sonsa, and so many more.

However, I give huge credit to NASB 1 for both making me both a better player and giving me a better competitive mental. And while I would say I prefer NASB 2 over NASB 1 nowadays for multiple reasons, I still love both games a lot and consider them some of my favorite games of all time.

I also have been competing in NASB 2 ever since its release, and overtime felt much better at that game than I did with NASB 1, with better placements including a 4th place at Battle Blimp 2 among others.

Alongside competition, I have met so many wonderful friends who I have so many fond memories with. While I have been unable to attend an offline tournament for either NASB 1 or NASB 2 as of writing this, it is something I wish to do at least once just to get that opportunity to meet them in person.

As I kept on competing, I grew to get better tournament results (Although these weren't the most common) alongside overall just being better at both SpongeBob and his specific tools and the game in general

Eventually 4 months after joining, I decided to finally started competing. I was initially extremely disappointed in myself in my run as I had went 1-2. However after some encouraging words from others (And realizing I couldn't beat myself up for my first bracket) I ended up still being motivated

Once NASB 1 released I was having a blast, despite the games very shaky launch. I followed the games competitive scene through looking up vods of both online and offline brackets, getting to see parts of Hidden Temple live. It wasn't until April of 2022 however that I joined the NASB grinders server

I was somewhat casual competitive with Smash as I was somewhat following its competitive scene. Once NASB 1 was revealed, my interest in Smash basically sunk. Mainly because of the fact SpongeBob is my favorite character of all time and none of Ultimate's DLC other than Banjo super appealed to me.

When I first heard of NASB 1 via the leaks, I was extremely excited simply at the prospect of SpongeBob being in a platform fighter, as him being in Smash Bros was a pipe dream of mine even as a kid. Eventually as the game was revealed and I learned about the mechanics, I became even more excited.

So Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is four years old today. Honestly, this was the first ever game where I truly felt like I was part of its community so it might be fun to kind of talk about some stuff (This is gonna be a long thread)

action/platformer speedruns: yea we have to do 100 frame perfect tricks to clip through all these sections and it's all skill based and precise practice and speed

old jrpg speedruns: WE HAVE TO TORTURE THE GAME BY RIPPING ITS SOUL OUT AND REPLACING IT WITH DR MARIO TO FORCE IT TO DO OUR BIDDING

CheapSkins the #nasb2 skin mod plugin has gotten a new update! Custom skins now load on the character select instantly instead of being shown as just a logo.

This also works online!! #platsky it's available now on Game Banana gamebanana.com/mods/586104

Yeah it's like I understand finding a take like Scott's weird for sure, but instead of saying stuff about what they have actually done people just go "Well your thing that you say is important is bad and dumb actually!" and don't really help refute the initial claim they were so mad about

I honestly can't tell how much of it is people just being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian or being upset because of some other reason like how some said SNK wasn't that important or stuff along those lines

SpongeBob may not be playable until November, but I'm having too much of a blast with this game. So watch me play it with a few other NASB community gamers

If she was put in a fighting game would she have it as an attack like Squidward did
A screenshot of Squidward in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 doing his Light Forward/Forward Tilt. It is a kick in front of himself.
