Sometimes I wonder if I'm universalist because I'm scared. Other times I have a brave moment where I feel like I'm willing to burn as long as Rubio does too. I should probably go to confession about this if I'm totally honest with myself. I can't imagine the hell of my dying child begging for food.

I'm realizing every year that I'm closer and closer to genuinely hating my job. Not because of the students, though that's definitely a factor. I'm honestly just sick of being accused of gatekeeping high school diplomas by not auto-passing every student.

All I want in my heart of hearts is for the Chicago teaching union to show up when the national guard does and just quietly outnumber them. Then silently stare at them like they're waiting on the national guard to get quiet.

If anyone is interested in knowing how weird the right is being today, we are apparently going through a whole thing where the oldest kid is getting called the antichrist for hanging out with girls (friends), by the conservative parents of other boys who are upset they're not hanging out with girls.

My husband @fadeno.bsky.social did an amazing job on the first of his kids' science series. This one is kindergarten-standards physics. If you like science...or birds....or fun rhymes and hijinx, please check it out. He is currently only on Amazon, but is planning to expand in time.

Feeling torn this morning. I keep seeing the very lax homeschool states start to enact "stricter" homeschool laws. They are not burdensome laws and they are there to protect children from the very real problem of families who don't actually homeschool and just keep kids out of school.

If anyone is wondering how it's going, I just found out one of my therapists that does really specialized work apparently got divorced over those very specialized issues and has stopped practicing. My new rule is no more male therapists for me.

The 12 yo was absolutely shocked today to find out that NSYNC and backstreet boys were NOT the same group.
The 10 yo put on my coat and tried to tuck his hands into the one tiny credit card pocket when he couldn't find big pockets. He just assumed because it's a woman's coat there were no pockets.

Take it a step further. Sexual impropriety is pretty much the norm now, to the extent that you are called sex negative when you just want an actually monogamous relationship. No one "using" on Reddit/TT/ph wants to acknowledge having to excuse themselves daily for their statistical use of CSAM.

I'm gonna acknowledge the elephant in the room that's on everyone's mind: Trunchbull from the Matilda musical may have been evil, but she was giving absolutely fantastic life advice in her main song. Like, I need it on a poster. It will be 1000% better than the "I teach, that's my superpower" ones.
