In sharp contrast, the Met are mass arresting protestors in Trafalgar Square for holding the same signs, despite claiming limited resources

Calling for #Gaza protests to be cancelled because of the horrific attack in #Manchester completely misses the point. Many of us object to the killing of innocent people in Gaza for *the same reason* that we object to the killing of innocent people in a Manchester #synagogue.

Instead of calling for protests against the #PalestineAction ban to be cancelled following the #synagogue attack, police could focus on protecting people from real terrorism (such as we saw in #Manchester) rather than pretending that people holding placards are a terrorist threat.

I love American public radio. I loved it when I lived there and I still enjoy a lot of NPR podcasts. There's a quality of storytelling that doesn't quite exist on the BBC. I hope it keeps going now Trump has defunded it.
