I always love the way that Steve makes these fun little skits about Star Trek and "absolutely nothing else"

Plus, I always liked those Star Fleet uniforms and it maje me feel sad that we didn't see them that much

Kemi Badenoch and the Daily Telegraph are bloody rat-lickers and deserve to be treated as such. They're simply too stupid to understand the difference between liberty and selfishness, between independence and recalcitance

Nationalising rail is a good start but only a start. Next we need to make it free at the point of service

The new red, white and blue branding mirrors the colours of the Union Flag, and will start to appear from next year.

You know how legalised alcohol isn't sold and openly consumed outside schools? Legalised cannabis would be like that
Not speaking to Green party policies per se, but legalising drugs is not a bad idea and anyone arguing it means "selling them outside schools" is plainly disingenuous. Prohibition doesn't work. Regulating, and taxing, them like cigs and alcohol means better safeguards, and more money for treatment.

I've heard stories about the 1970's. It was before my time but it sounds horrifying. We got good music out of it, but it wasn't worth the cost. The idea that those mythical times might be coming back scares me and we need to unite and prevent it ever happening
I joined the Green Party, because if Zack Polanski isn't our next Prime Minister...

I'll probably be dead within 10 years.

I once heard that the Buddhist understanding of perfection is "it's not possible to achieve it, but there's tremendous honour to be found in trying"

I see environmentalism like that - no-one will ever be perfect at it, but there's honour to be found in trying.
There really is no such thing as "the perfect green"

Today in Brussels, the EU and the Palestinian Authority held the first meeting of the Palestine Donor Group.

The EU is the largest provider of external assistance to the Palestinian people. And a strong advocate for the two-state solution.

People need to start recognising that anger is the only reasonable response
A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

"I did a bad thing but I felt bad about it" isn't much of a defence.

They all need to be able to aware in the mirror and say "in doing the right thing. This is necessary for the safety of our country. They deserve what they're going to get." If they struggle to do that, they need to vote it down
"Polanski was joined by many Labour MPs in opposing the government’s plans, although most of them are thought to be prepared to reluctantly support the measures."

What's the point of being in Labour?

Most asylum seekers arrive with their valuables long lost in bombed or abandoned homes, stolen, or sold to afford the dangerous clandestine passage to safety

The real thing of value to be snatched from refugees under these proposals is far more painful: their families & futures

Me, for @zeteo.com

This would just be sickeningly cruel.
Just wilful performative cruelty that is entirely out of step with the majority of British people.

How many Labour MPs got into politics in order to vote for stealing jewellery off of people seeking refuge from war and persecution?

You know that "Americans will use literally anything except the metric system" meme that we all laugh at because we all know how simple the metric system is?

Brits will try literally anything except safe and legal routes
This is as bad as anything proposed by Reform.

Leaving refugees in permanent limbo and unable to build a new life in the UK would be a complete abdication of our humanitarian responsibilities

It makes me wonder whether Prescott actually consulted the original source himself & doctored it or simply took dictation from someone else. A person, for example, who had helped insert a right-wing lobbyist who hadn’t done journalism for over 20 years into such a potentially important position…

Im sure that John Tizard (and Festus Akinbusoye before him) do/did a fine job, but for the life of me I wouldn't be able to tell you what that job was or why it needed to exist. I doubt I will miss the existence of a Police and Crime Commissioner
November 13, 2025 at 12:38 PM
Yes, it always was - and still is - exactly this simple.

1. If they're working, they can pay their way, saving our country a fortune.

2. If the process is accelerated, people aren't left in limbo and housed at the tax payers expense

3. Removing the profit motive reduces cost
Dear GOD if you want to save money in the asylum system

1. LET ASYLUM SEEKERS WORK

2. FAST TRACK STATUS FOR EVERYONE FROM CLEARLY UNDAFE COUNTRIES like Sudan, Syria, etc

3. Run an asylum accommodation system that is NOT FOR PROFIT #r4today
