The cargo bike trial made us focus on what we needed in a cargo bike. After a good bit of research we settled on a bike from Decathlon. First impressions are great but I'll write up a full report on my findings.

* Not stuck in traffic, meaning consistent travel times to school. Everyday.
* They are completely warm & dry in the bike if it's pouring
* They love it and I love listening to their chats/songs etc along the way
* Get a bit of exercise every day. How bad.

Our time with the Dolly cargo bike has come to an end. I want to thank Pat @pfitzp.bsky.social (@limerickecargobike on X) for letting us trial the bike.
The end result?
We're all in. Moving the kids via cargo bike is a no brainer.

We'll be selling cattle next week, so I tuned into MartEye for a while to see how sales were going. It is a bugbear of mine that the mart doesn't have an API ;) to get sales data from. Instead I scrape it and use chat GTP to create my guide for next week. I'd be happy if I got those avg's next week.

On the cargo bike I clocked up 75km on school runs and collections in 1 week. Kinda surprised and chuffed at the same time. Getting a nice bit of exercise and beating traffic which is nice.

I've been doing the school run in the morning and with the weather been terrible the amount of traffic heading to schools in the mungret area is staggering. Tailbacks everywhere but thanks to the new bike lane all the way to school we get there in 8mins. Hard to beat that in a car on a good day.

I'll have to give the bike back soon but I now know it is a good idea and it's easy to cycle. I also know we need a front bucket that has a door. Bike to work scheme here we come.. but I won't be giving up the commuter bike because it is an awesome bike to tear around on and it goes everywhere.

I've been cycling a cargo bike for a little while now and I'm loving it. The little people love it too..
Today, I was on my trust worthy commuter bike and felt weird (fast) but weird.
I kinda feel safer on the cargo bike. It's bigger for one, I feel higher up and more seen.

I hope ultimately the ComReg register will work to reduce spam/phishing etc. but the roll out is not doing it any favours.
They have been very responsive to any of our queries and have indicated that 3rd party integration will improve (which is a good thing). Some Opa's have been very slow :(
